  1. "Shallowing the club". I've tried for years to do that whole shallow move you see so many golfers on Youtube do. It ends up making me keep my weight back and getting stuck. I even go to the range 3+ times a week and can't figure it out. In the last two years, I've had 18 in-person lessons with one pro, and my handicap kept going up [despite putting the work in], then I switched coach's and had another 10 in-person lessons, and the handicap is still 20+. I honestly think I was hitting the ball better before any instruction at all.
  2. Thanks for the reply. That's great to hear. I've struggled for years from different instructors telling me to let my arms fall on the downswing, and use my hips to square everything up. I end up with my hips wide open and my arms only half way down my chest, barely at hip high. I had a feeling I need to get my arms more active, but it seems like it's not taught enough in instructions. Everything is "fire the hips".
  3. I enjoy watching your swing changes, it's a very nice swing aesthetically! Do you feel active with your arms in the downswing?
  4. Correct me if I'm wrong, but won't mating to the R15 head (or M1 or SLDR or M3 etc) only depend on the side of the adapter with the threads, not the side the tip of the shaft goes into?
  5. If my R15 has a .335 tip and adapter on it, and I take this new shaft that's .350 and put a .350 Taylormade adapter, will it work on my R15? Are the threads the same?
  6. Thanks for the reply! What does uncut mean? I'll bring it to the local shop as I think I'm out of my element hear.
  7. I have an R15 driver, and my instructor recommended going with an extra-stiff shaft instead of the current stiff shaft. It has a Fujikura Speeder 57, so I ordered a replacement Fujikura Speeder 57 in extra stiff (however it's from an SLDR rather than R15, but I figured it's the same). I noticed after it shipped that it didn't have an adapter on it, and I'm completely new to this (I was figuring I could just screw it on). It also says it is "uncut" but is 44-1/2". I'm not sure what this means. Can anyone tell me what my next steps are? Do I order an adaptor and some club glue - or am I able to take the adapter piece off my R15's current shaft and re-use it? The adapter is just the threaded piece correct? Thanks in advance! The ad reads: NEW TaylorMade (SLDR) Fujikura Speeder 57 Extra Stiff Flex (Driver/Fairway) Shaft The shaft is uncut and 44.5 inches .350 tip The shaft has not been used but does have some scratches/scuffs from shipping/handling/storage with other shafts The shaft does not come with cutting/tipping instructions No grip/adapter/sleeve is included
  8. I hadn't seen this post previously or I would have responded earlier. I've been a Premium member of RST since January. I put in the reps and I have seen my swing aesthetically look a lot better. Unfortunately for me it hasn't resulted in lower scores; but it's a journey. They have different specials throughout the year. I believe I got mine for $119/yr. Now, you get a swing review every 2 weeks included with that. So, it's nice to get a lesson every two weeks for essentially $5. Tough to beat that value. The instructors are good so I really have no complaints about the money. My instructor started me on set-up, then on getting my weight over in my back swing, then on rotation. I'm certainly hitting the ball farther (I gained 20 yards on my irons) but I haven't gotten to the downswing or release yet, which is why my scores likely haven't improved yet. A lot of the feels and movements are foreign to me so it definitely takes commitment to learn the motor movements and ingrain them, but it can certainly be done. Right now I'm learning how to "post-up", or push off the ground in order to release the club. All in all, I like what they teach. You have to go in committed to doing the reps or you won't get anything out of it. I'll be signing up for another year when my membership is up.
  9. Taylormade unfortunately won't validate by the serial number whether it's real or fake. Very frustrating!
  10. I have seen some Taylormade Spider Tour putters show up on eBay, Craigslist, etc. They all look real, but I'm always skeptical when people say they received them as a prize, etc, and don't have receipts (though it is believable it could happen). Are there fakes out there of this putter, or is it something they haven't bothered to try to fake? Is there an easy way to identify a fake?
  11. I tried taking some stills next to Matt Kuchars swing if it helps. Am i took much reverse pivoting? My scores are getting worse instead of better. I leave the range more discouraged than encourages. Wanted to break 90 this year but im now back to shooting around 100.
