  1. They are in Nevada, right. Miss it 30 yards left or right and play from the rocks. IFFFFF Gerry ever made it to a tour and missed it 30 yards left or right, he'd be playing from where he hit his original shot, but adding two more strokes. It would look good coming off the driver like a scalded dog, though, going a long way into the trees.
  2. Good call Rusty.....Gerry's idea of "striping" one is a little different from my idea of "striping" one.
  3. Of course the ProV1 is great and they still sell at $45/dozen because they are that good. The HX tours are $40 a dozen here, so it's not like you are saving that much money. I like the HX tour except that I chew it up too bad. I just picked up a dozen TaylorMade TP Reds yesterday as Dick's Sporting Goods has them for $30 on clearance right. I like it A LOT. Very durable. Spins great. Feels good on the driver and putter. I am gonna try to go back and get a couple of more dozen Reds before they sell out. I don't know how the Black's play, but reading the box, it seems that they would compare to the NXT tour or E6 or something like that.
  4. I have an FT-I in 9 degree stiff neutral that I just got Friday night and have played two rounds w/ it. I like it. I do hit it a little higher, but haven't noticed losing yardage as both rounds were played at my home course where I've played for 20 years and have played from porbably every blade of grass on that course. It looks a little odd at first but you get used to it. It sets up to the ball GOOOOOOD in my opinion. Yes it's loud, but so is the FT-5 which is not square and most of the Cobra Speed models. I don't think the "Tink" is exclusive to square drivers. By the way, my second round w/ the FT-I was today and shot a 75 w/ four 3 puts. Never played from the trees and could cut or draw drives whenever I wanted. I'm a fan.
  5. HOWWWWWWW on God's green earth is Gerry still around??????????? Did y'all see where he played from. Kontak was hilarious. Can't wait till next week.
  6. Driver---One round old Callaway FT-i 3 wood--Callaway Big Bertha 3+ wood 13 degree 5 wood--Callaway Big Bertha 17 degree Irons----Callaway X Tour 3-PW Wedges---Callaway Forged 54 degree and Callaway Steelhead X 16 58 degree Putter----Callaway Bobby Jones BJ 6 (oldie but a goodie) Bag------Callaway Digital Camouflage cart bag that supports "Birdies for the Brave" Portion of the proceeds from each bag go to help families of the troops fighting in the war. I'll give you three guesses what my favorite equipment is, and the first two don't count. I do preferr a Pro V 1 ball though. I chew up the Callaway HX Tours too quick.
  7. I would say hitting it 290 w/ a 285 carry is not bad at all. I would change nothing. I guess the only changes to try would be move it a little back in your stance and get your hands a little in front of the ball. Swing from the inside to "sweep" it off the tee. These would be pretty major changes from what you are used to, so like I said b4, I'd leave it alone.
  8. I've also heard that just because there is a serial number there, it doesn't mean that they are real. Even the fakes will have a serial number. They will all be the same serial number on every set of clubs, but it will have a serial number.
  9. I've had 2. One was witnessed as I was playing with a group of buddies that we gamble w/. The other I was by myself just practicing since I had skipped my college classes that day. I was hitting a couple of balls just knocking it around. I hit two on that par three and they were different balls so I know the first shot was the hole in one. The shot was a little up hill, so I didn't get to see it go in (the other ace was on a down hiller, so I saw it) The second ball was about a foot from the hole and a didn't see the other ball as I came up to the green. Looked in the cup and there it was. I knew both shots were good, but didn't realize the one was an ace. Mine were w/ a 6 iron on the first ace and a 7 iron on the second one. No trophies or drinks. I did win a close up and a skat on the one that we were gambling one.
  10. I'm new to this site and didn't feel like reading all of the posts so I hope I'm not repeating much that has already been said. I love the Big Break show and have watched the past 3 or 4 seasons religiously. I think Hiroshi is the best to ever come through Big Break. His swing is perfect. And, if I'm not mistaking, wasn't he hitting a 3 iron like 265 yards or something like that. I honestly think that other than being able to hit a driver a country mile, Gerry is terrible. I'm looking forward to the following episodes, and looking forward to getting to know some of you fellow golfers on here. Thanks for the time.
  11. Run a moulder at a shop where we make pine flooring, trim, and stair parts to match the flooring. Guess I could have summed that up in one word saying "wood working"
