  1. When I started working out again after injuries I tried the full body thing 3 times a week but found that I didn't like it. Instead of being sore in one place for a day or two i was sore all over. Needless to say that was bad! So doing a split helps, and also the Tae Bo really stretches me out so I'm not stiff. I used to be a powerlifter and pushing up huge weight was great when I waqs younger but now not so great. i also think doing a powerlifters split for so long got me into the habit of doing a split lifting routine. Plus, the day recovery time in between workouts is perfect since i don't lift nearly as heavy as i used to.
  2. Yes, i should have specified, sorry. i do chest and triceps on Monday, back and Biceps on Wednesday, and Shoulders and legs on Friday.
  3. I have an incisional hernia so i have to take it easy. but i can not just NOT workout so her's my routine that i do, all exercises are 3x15 Monday, Wednesday, Friday: Flat bench press Incline bench Standing shoulder press lat raises Lat Pulldowns One arm cable rows Tricep pulldowns Alternating hammer Curls Leg Extensions Leg Curls Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday: Advanced Tae Bo Sunday: OFF My wife laughs at me when I do the Tae Bo but it really is a great cardio workout!
  4. Lucius Who the HELL CARES!! Seriously get over it. I think you've totally missed the point. So what if he did make it up it was a cool story. Take a breath...
  5. Its funny you should mention the goose! My daughter and i were out about a month ago playing 9 holes and on the 4th and 5th holes geese cut across the fairway all day long. So my daughter (11) says to me "Pa please don't hit the cute geese." i won't I tell her. i wasn't worried about it because i had been hitting them great. however as i let it rip My shot made a BEE line right for the goose and smaked him right in the chest with a thud I'll never forget. he let out a screech and spread his wings and i thought he was gonna charge me. i swear if he had a middle finger i would have seen it! needless to say my daughter screamed at me "I TOLD YOU NOT TO HIT HIM!" i felt real bad but the little guy seemed okay just pretty pissed off.
  6. LOL...They are actually recent. They only play with clubs before 1980. So all persimmon woods and blades and the like. They are actually having a tournament in Vegas in April of next year. I was thinking about doing it because I like playing with my old set of Spalding executives and I thought it would be fun.
  7. I had Major surgery last year and this year about 3 weeks ago i developed a rather large incisional hernia. It doesn't hurt at all when I play golf but boy do I feel it afterwards. I am having surgey next week. I was wondering if any of you had experience with a hernia and how it affected your game at all?
  8. Hi Folks just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the persimmon tour? Whether as a player or spectator. thanks.
  9. AND the persimmons! Nice find. I am a bit of a collector and I just got a set of Spalding executives from 1969 3-PW and the 1,3, and 5 wood (persimmon) I love old clubs!
  10. Why did you sell the Pings? I tried a buddy's G10 and loved them, even though he is 29 years my Senior and has Senior flex shafts. i like them. I have not tried the Taylor made R11 because nothing by them really blew air up my skirt. But my son Loves his r7's.
  11. I used to carry a 3 and 4 iron but then I suddenly remembered i can't them for beans so...I got Wilson Staff 17* and 21* Hybrids. then my Nickent 3dx hybrid irons 5-10 +PW. A Wilson 55* wedge and an Accuspin 60* Wedge. Oh yeah Driver is a Ping G10 10.5* S flex and an Adams GT2 3 Wood.
  12. Sorry to dig this thread up again after 4 years but i have a question. i have recently purchased a set of Spalding Executive Irons 3-PW. What drew me to them was that the soles were pretty wide and from what I understand they are from the late 60's early 70's. So, i was surprised that thir sole was so wide but yet had a very traditional small blade "everything else". Would these be considered an early game improvement iron? Also i can post a picture if you folks would like. Thanks!
  13. Golf is not the same game it was 100 years ago. All things change. I'm sure old Tom never dreamed of a 460cc driver. I bet walter hagen never thought of a Titanium driver, or Irons with a titanium face ala Callaway. I believe these things give an advantage. If anchoring the club allows the player a better stroke why not allow it? i don't go for this "spirit of the game" crap either. If the spirit of the game is what we are after than we need to go back to featheries and hickory clubs played on random fields like the old boys did. Rules exist to make things fair, so if anyone can use a belly putter if they choose then it is an option open to everyone and therefore should be acceptable. I do NOT use a belly putter i find them to awkward. However if it's good for you than fairplay to ya!
