  2. Hopefully this week. Crappy rainy weekend now. :-/ Will call him this week probably. :-)
  3. Thanks David! I am glad to be a part of it and continually learn new things too. :-)
  4. Being new to golf at only a couple months, I did an internet search and found many golf forums. I found this one to be the best; for good reason! You all have helped me with advice, tips, techniques, and most of all encouragement. I pray for our continued success on the greens and helping each other out. You never realize how much a forum can help your game. Most people share similar game issues, concerns, etc. Sure helps a ton! Joe
  5. Good info there! I like the Calloway so far. Still doing some research. :-)
  6. Since I started golf June 22 this year, I am new and only heard of, but never saw Golf Galaxy. Come to find out today it is about 20 minutes from my house. Went there today. Bought a new bag. Nice and friendly staff. Never knew they were owned by Dick's. Like a golfer' shop spot. Prices were pretty good. Nice selection too.
  7. Looking to get a practice net for home. Range / course is about 15-20 minutes from the house. When I can't get there or just want to stay at the house to drive some balls, I want a bet. What brand is good? I noticed most are about 6' tall. I want the maximum protection so that in case a ball goes wide one way or another.
  8. Good thing now is our daughter is 7 and she loves it! Starting her young and her school also has a golf club / team starting this coming school year. ;-)
  9. Awesome to hear all of these stories!!!
  10. How did you all get started in golf??? In a short story how I got started. I am 31 and have always seen golf as "boring" and no skill. Just me being neive. Never even tried it. A few months back, I was with my wife and her family and we all watched the LPGA when Michelle Wei won it. I was not interested at first and then started to become interested with the game. Her cousin is a competition golfer and just got a new set of equipment. He said if I did well trying golf my first few weeks he would give me his one year old equipment (total of about $2,500 with all in the bag including a full 14 set). Well, I went and played a few times and love it! I bought books, shoes, etc and have been training 5-6 days a week with exercise and also playing. I like the driving range and even the xbox 360 games I bought as they help me with the concepts. I am still learning and having fun. Also, I needed a hobby/sport that would help me get some weight loss and golf is helping with that greatly. I m losing weight and I feel more flexible and like I move better in my swings. This is only the beginning and I am looking forward to my future in golf! Joe
  11. It's so important to get the timing right with putts. I like the "getting in the way idea" that I mentioned earlier. I like to feel smooth when I putt.
