  1. Thanks for the enthusiastic pat on the back
  2. 79. First time I ever broke 80. Very happy but I blew a five foot birdie and took two doubles. Shouldn't complain; it was 30 degrees with not a cloud in the sky. Couldn't have been more enjoyable.
  3. I tried to find a picture of this supposed mofo but couldn't. I'd like to see what he looks like. Interestingly he's from Calgary and only 25 years old.
  4. No? The Weather Network calls for 28 and sunshine. Another forecast saying otherwise? And thanks to all for some great suggestions! I have something to work with now :D
  5. Yup, meadows ;) I'm just putting together the rules (which includes tee boxes to hit from), and I know the tee colors are differen't than your standard 'red, white, blue, black'. Doesn't it go 'white, black, blue'?
  6. I'm putting on a little golf tournament for some friends this Saturday afternoon and I'd like to come up with a clever little name for the tournament. No vulgarities please
  7. 1.29 / litre in Winnipeg where i live and about 3.69 / gallon while I'm here in Minneapolis
  8. Sounds like you guys shoot some nice rounds :) So which tee box do you walk up to and take one look at the hole and say to yourself "man I hate this hole". For me it's 13. Whenever I'm there tees are set so far back and the wind is blowin in my face 50 mph. It plays like a 230 yard par 3 for me. For example, when we played on Monday, my friend (a very good golfer) hit the crispest 5 wood I've ever seen and he came up 25 yards short. Next guy (a very respectable golfer), hits the crispest 3 wood I've ever seen and comes up 10 yards short. So I played driver and eased up as much as I could and ended up being on the green. It was ridiculous!
  9. Shot 42 on the front and 42 on the back for a 84 at a local course called Larters ( www.larters.com ). I was pleased with the score but I chunked about three shots so it could have been a little better.
  10. Funny how you guys live in the area :) So what do you guys usually shoot at meadows? I played on Monday morning and hit bananas off the tee all day to shoot a stinky 89 :p
  11. I'd say newer clubs make a difference. Up until about a month ago I was hitting a set of Jazz (locally owned and made, likely you've never heard of them) from about seven or eight years ago. I just picked up a new set of irons and a driver and I went from shooting low 90s to low 80s. I attribute much of my better play to the improved technology. However I think equally as valuable has been the improvement in my mental game. Now I feel like I can make every shot when I step up to the ball and 9 times out of 10 that translates into a good swing.
  12. I'm from Winnipeg. Just signed up a few days ago. I live in North Kildonan so I tend to play Meadows, Larters, and Bel Acres a lot. How about you guys?
