  1. thanks dave, yeah once I get close to the green I usually try to pitch it up there. I rarely use any irons unless its a par-3 course, Ill use a wood or hybrid
  2. that helps a little, at least with the part of how to keep all that on a little card (ill just give my name a couple lines. But i still dont understand the Up/Down and Sand Saves. also how do I know the distance I putt? I would have to break out a tape measure and look like a dork every hole.. or is this area made to really just guesstimate the distance?
  3. My first time I played a round was out in Aurora, CO. it was just a little 9-hole 3par course but it was nice and I was playing the double par rule, I didnt do too bad for a newb and I beat the other guy I was with.. I only used my #6-#9 irons, PW and Putter for the course since everything was short.. anyway so yesterday I played my first larger course its still 9-holes but its well spread out (454yd was longest hole) so I got to use my drivers a bit as well.. Granted the course sucks because it had waist-high weeds EVERYWHERE and it was a bad windy day (it always is in south dakota anyway) i lost about 10 balls in the weeds.. (a great scam from the course I feel) anyway.. I did pretty bad but occasionally I hit it right down the center and right up on the green, not too bad i guess.. Im still trying to get used to the various distances per Iron, and wood and the Driver.. and granted Im using a cheap-o set of clubs (Aspire XD2 - yeah try to even look them up lol) I guess I cant really learn much on a high wind day except how to compensate my angle for the wind... I played double par rule on this as well and still scored a LOUSY 66 in the end..
  4. and what about GIR, Sand Saves, and Up/Down? also with Penalties say I hit my ball out of bounds and dropped in, do I mark that as penalty?
  5. so how do you score fairway? I mean if you hit it once and it goes to the left, and then you hit again and you hit center how do you score both? or does that mean only on your initial Tee off?
  6. I guess I need to learn how to score my games.. I didnt know there was any more to it than your par ;( like how to score fairways, penalties, sand saves? and GIR and Up and Down... any help?
  7. cool, because I dont even know how a handicap works yet ;) thanks
  8. I have a couple questions, 1 Do you offer a military discount/and or the 20% off code still? and 2, any plans to port this to PDA?
  9. right but I mean usually the clubhouse provides a scorecard and there isnt anywhere to write all that down. So do you suggest I either make a scorecard of my own that has all that info on it and just fill it in as I go, or get some software on my PDA?
  10. Im not good enough to use the software, I dont know what some of the stuff on there means.. Like where it says fairway and you check either the center, left, or right... and how am I supposed to remember back on hole 2 how many putts it took me, when Im on hole 12? ya know?
  11. Do you guys keep them for record? Toss them? what do you do with them when you are done? I keep them around Until i am good enough to buy scorekeeping software and enter them all in.
  12. I dont really know many pro golfers yet but since Tiger is one of those names I actually DO, Ill have to go with him haha
  13. http://www.ellsworthservices.com/PrairieRidge/index.htm Thats the small 9-Hole near the base here..
