  1. Based on what I read on the S&T; book. First analyze your ball flight pattern. Is it a push (starts right and goes straight), push fade (starts right and fades more the right) or slice (starts from the left and slices to the right past the target)? After you correctly identify your ball flight pattern then you can start to make some adjustments for example with push fade, the club face is open coming too much from the inside and not enough rotation. The Stack and Tilt book explains all of this. Best of luck to you hope this helps.
  2. Got the book and read it and re-read it then re-read the important parts again. Everytime I went through it the more I realize that those times I'm hitting it well I am doing something right out of the book. I have adopted the swing and have been a little more consistent ever since. Still have some bad days and bad holes but this book gives me exactly what I have been looking for since I started playing in '05, something to go back to when things go wrong. Overall I would recomend this book to anybody in all skill levels, you just have to be open minded and be true to yourself and be commited. I also purchased the video but that's probably for another thread
  3. once a week normally, if I succecfully sneak out of work then 2. Any of you guys playing 5-7 days a week getting sore? And how do you deal with it. Assuming you ride the cart, do your shoulders hurt at all?
  4. Not sure if my handicap index disqualifies me but here's my ipinion anyway. I would have done what you did and take of the clubs that I am not comfortable with and eliminate the temptation to go for that 4 iron (more of a liability for my than anything else) when you can choke down on your hybrid or even go with a 5 or 6 iron lay up (normally for my game, a more predictable shot) and pick a full swing wedge to the green then hopefully 1 putt. More often when I stick to a more conservative game, thats when I get better results.
  5. I agree that he ran off everybody in his team that is good, all he thinks about is himself, does not think about TEAM at all. I think he is a spoiled brat with a huge talent and an even bigger ego. I think that any team he ends up with will have some kind of turmoil because of him wanting everything his way.
  6. Coffee shop owner here in Dallas Metroplex.
  7. Get rid of blow up holes 1 or 2 per round Think and commit to every shot I make. Sometimes when I set up I continue to hit the ball even though it doesnt feel right and almost always end up hitting the worse shot of my round, then try an impossible shot to recover hence blow up holes. Commit to one swing. Seem like every Sunday I try to emulate the player who won the tournament on tv. I just want to stick to what I have right now which currently works and be consistent with it. If I am able to do all of this, then my main goal of scoring in the 80's this year should be accomplished and lower my handicap to about 16 from 18 right now
  8. so I played 9 holes yesterday, and set my goals for every one of them. Did not put preasure on myself I just kept track of where I am in the particular hole and whenever I find myself in a sticky situation tried to play a bogey or worse double bogey hole. My goal for the 9 was a 45 to make it a bogey game scored a 46 but I was really happy to not score any tripple. If I could keep this level of concentration I could break 90 more often this year (which is my goal this year). Thanks for everybody's input..
  9. Currently using TM TP black 54 degrees 8 degrees bounce. I really like the weight and the black finish. The sound it makes takes getting used to. I used to use Vokey spin milled and could not hit them well, maybe it was not the right club for my swing, I had 54 with 14 bounce and 60 with 4 bounce, extreme ends. Got rid of them both and got the TM, I am now planning to get a TM 60 degrees.
  10. That's right he is paying his dues now, if he keeps it up before we all know it 9 or ten year old kids starting to play golf will use 2 g's also...
  11. Tournament, no not anytime soon but I am so competitive in my little way that when I have the bragging rights for the whole week within my golfing buddies, it gives me a good feeling. BTW I think that your style fits my mentality a little better, I will further disect it and set my goals on every hole (small victories kind of thinking) and see where it takes me. I am excited again for tomorrow's game.
  12. LBOB, another great point to stay in the moment and not think birdie or even GIR, everytime I play a whole round conservatively, thats when I play my best.
  13. I think that is one of the things I am doing is getting caught up with the score card and obsessing over it. Its just a great feelling to shave a stroke or 2 you know. 89 sounds so much better than 92....
  14. Ok, is it just me or are there anybody else out there that seem to always have 1 or 2 holes per round that wrecks the whole card? I picked up the game in May of 2004, and I am absolutely addicted to it. I play and practice whenever I can and now shoot mid to high 90's occasional100's. I am a few strokes away from breaking 90 more often but it seems like every round I play, I would manage to have 1 or 2 blow up holes. Like last 9 holes I played, I scored 3 pars and still manage to score 49. Anyone has any suggestions? My playing buddies always tell me that I just need to manage my game more, but how? I would hit a beautiful drive right down the pipe on a par five maybe 250-270 yards, I would play conservative and get a short iron out and lay up because I still have 200 yards to go, what do I do, shank a pitching wedge and get the ball into the water, before I know it I am scoring an 8 or 9 on this hole. I need some management tips.....help me
  15. I have a set of Titleist 690 cb and I love them, although I have been looking at the 755's lately and the review on this site is making me want it more. used to use Mizuno mx23 nice clubs too. There is nothing like a properly fitted set....sweet when you hit it right
