  1. I don't have an issue with either sides celebrations, it's good to see a good deal of passion showed and that is what the Ryder cup is all about, as long as it does not effect the shot of their opponent (aka Brookline). I would say that Mr Poulter always looks sharp and smart on tour in his savile row, tailored clothing, puts many of the other US tour players who shop at walmart to shame
  2. I dont have an issue hitting long irons, but why not have a club in your bag that gives you more confidence, if you are happy hitting your long irons good for you :)
  3. Great days of golf, lots of "ifs" but coming down to the last group on last day makes great watching. Think the best team won just but both sides had their bad players and good players. As for Medinah, I would not class 7657 yards off the regular Gold tees as short but rather bloody long, 2 par fives over 600 yards help push the yardage up though
  4. Ok ok, just having a little pop at ping and got found out by a superior intelligence :), I know the X-forged are not "true" blades but i dont think i play enough anymore to use a true muscleback blade. My only concern with the X-forged is my lack of confidence with the 3 and 4 irons, for the first time in my golfing life i am considering going hybrids :(
  5. Hi Well recently got rid of my X-16's and got some Callaway X-forged irons and wedges to match, having not played blades for 20 years i looked around and was surprised what was available for LH's, had a fitting at Callaway in Surrey, but bought my irons from the USA, saved £200 even after carriage and customs duty. Gotta say i am so happy with the irons, they do have some muscle on the back but they look so good and you know you are looking at a blade when the 3 iron looks the same size as the ball at address. Regarding the Ping S59, sorry but cant really call that a true blade as it is a cast head made to look like a blade as per ping, think they are bringing out their first true "forged" irons this year which will be worth looking at :)
  6. I prefer the 442 formation in real fantasy football, got Drogba upfront with Torres, loads of goals and points
  7. I dont think Rory or any player on the soon to be victorious European team fear Tiger, his Ryder cup record is average due to his inability to play for a team rather than himself, and more importantly having just given his x-wife 500 mil he is probably crying all the way to Vegas and the bed of a trashy hooker :) and of course will he make the team........ if i were CP i would not pick him as he would bring nothing to the team.
  8. Just moved from cavity to Callaway X Forged, they are not true blades due to some nice weighting but still look fantastic behind the ball and the feel when you hit them is so much nicer than cavities.
  9. I had copper eye 2's and ping changed them for the + version when the old groves became illegal, will say even back then i found no difference in the 2 sets other than my golf balls lasted longer with the new irons.
  10. If he has little time but want fitting on clubs Ping do an online fitting, would push the lessons though and why spend loads of money, get fitted then ebay :)
  11. You are the first person in 30 years i have come across that changes balls depending on course - strange thing to do. With regards to clubs I would say Mizuno irons seem to be the preference of a lot of players i know with Titleist woods, i have always played what manufacturer makes left handed, as you can see from my signiture Callaway is my preference and the "is" ball is a fine addition and the first time in donkeys years i have not played titleist balls. Finally if the people you are playing with dont belive you when you find your ball in the rough then maybe they are the wrong people to play with :)
  12. Thank-you for replies, being a lefty I am limited to the 9.5 in the tour, and have decided to not waste money putting a decent shaft in the Adams i bought and go for a FT9 tour I-mix and put a Fujikura Rombax 6Z08 in it, I am a high ball hitter so the tour and shaft should give me a better flight.
  13. Going to ask a silly question - is the only difference between an ft9 and ft9 tour head is the loft available?
  14. I think it all depends on your build, many of the "new" golf clothing manufactures make more of a fitted shirt and trousers (pants for my american cousins) such a J Lindburgh, Galvin Green etc, for people who have a relaxing life and carry excess baggage then you need a different fit like ashworth, cutter and buck etc. personally i would love to be thinner and wear the posey golf clothes, but unfortunatly i like pie so i just let my golf do the talking and wear big clothes :)
  15. Hi Firstly just purchased one of these drivers as the right ups were very favourable, unfortunatly the standard shaft supplied is total crap so my questions are.... Can't for the life of me find the tip size for the driver Was thinking of sticking a FUJIKURA ROMBAX 8Z08 TOUR ISSUE in it Any thoughts
