I just got done watching Zeitgeist for school and I am not sure what to make of it. I don't want to believe that government, not only our own, would be capable of performing such acts.
The religious aspect I can buy, which I believe gives credit to everything else in the movie.
For those who have not seen it, you can watch it here for free. It's 2 hours long, but really makes you think.
It is broken up into 3 parts. The first part debunks religion, Christianity as the main focus. Part 2 is about 9/11, and similar terrorist acts staged by national governments. It also mentions the London train bombings, Oklahoma City bombing, Lusitania sinking, Tonkin Gulf incident, and Pearl Harbor attack.
The third part is about the men behind the curtain. The main idea is the progression towards a global government, led by international banks. The Rockefeller family is a key component to this movement. RFID chips injected into every American as well as the North American Union are mentioned with some disturbing detail.

If you haven't seen it, take the time to watch it before you make any ridiculous comments.
I was always with the idea that believing that the government was behind 9/11 was un-American, but Zeitgeist really makes you think.

I look forward to hearing about your thoughts.

I'm sorry, but if you can't really see through this you have issues.

Let me debunk some myths.

1: Virtually every engineer that has inspected the WTC said it happened exactly like they said it did.

2: For someone to put bombs in the WTC as was suggested by many, do you realize how much bombs they would have to place? Where did they put them all? If they had some on every floor and they pancaked the building, how did they fix all that drywall so fast and how did the tens of thousands of people that works there ALL not notice?

Did those arabs willingly volunteer to just randomly hop on those planes to die so we could commence bombing their countries?

3: If all the jews knew about it, would they really not tell anyone else?

4: If our government is really so clever as to pull off 9/11 without anyone figuring it out (including the hundreds or thousands that would have to be involved in the scheme and no one said a thing), why couldn't the same folks plant a whole bunch of WMD's in the middle of Iraq to save face on that? That seems a lot less difficult to do given the circumstances.

5: There were hundreds of people who saw the plane fly into the pentagon and we have it on film. If a missile was shot into it, were all these people brainwashed? Were the videos doctored?

6: How the **** is it possible to remote control a 747 into a building?

7: Do you not realize that the government can't even respond to a hurricane correctly, but they could pull this off?

And the grand daddy of them all......

8: How self obsessed and narcissistic do you have ot be to think that YOU ALONE figured this out and ALL THESE GENIUSES who have studied this stuff couldn't figure it out.

But no, you are the enlightened ones. All those chemical engineers, structural engineers, scientists, doctors, military men, and foreign policy experts were all deceived by the man who can't pronounce NUCLEAR.

Thankfully for the rest of us, some pott head 9-11 Truthers sat up all night in their mom's basement analyzing footage and they have cracked the case.

Seriously..........

Thanks, but it doesn't sound like you have seen the movie. The molten metal attributed to thermite is the likely cause of pancaking the three WTC buildings. WTC 7 was never struck by an airplane, yet seemed to collapse as the result of just 2 or 3 fires. It appears that all three were the result of techniques used by controlled demolition. WTC 7 collapsed down the center as the sides fell into it.

I'm an trying to play devil's advocate here because I never believed these things were possible, but I feel this movie brought new light to the subject.

Then I'll play devil's advocate as well.

Note I'm not trying to piss you off, just trying to make you see something....

Molten metal due to the fact that airplanes impacted the buildings and hit the actual central core of the building thus weakening the metal and knocking the fire retardant off of the support beams.

Support beams no longer can sustain the buildings and they pancake.
It appears that all three were the result of techniques used by controlled demolition.

Really?

Now let me ask you this....... Given the fact that you have access to this information then all of the actual demolition experts in the world have access to it so why don't they draw that same conclusion? Did the Rockefellers buy them too? Maybe our genius President fooled them all? Maybe every demolitions experts and structural engineer is in on it..... My simple point is that you are probably not a scientist, demolitions expert, or structural engineer. If none of those people that are truly experts in this field are saying anything about it and they have had 7 years to study it, then you can only go 2 ways with this: A: THEY ARE ALL IN ON IT! B: There is no conspiracy. For some reason, you have chosen the latter. Can you explain that to me?

Please watch from 53 minutes to 58:50.
Dr. Steven Jones is a Physicist at Brigham Young University.
Rebut the video, after all, that is what this thread is about.

I love conspiracy theory beliefs but I find them as frustrating as seeking the Truth becaus there is no finite way of discerning truth from fiction (or someone's latent agenda). I find our world much more reflects Huxley's Brave New World than Orwell's 1984. Per Huxley, we are faced with a deluge of information that makes sifting for relevance nearly impossibe.

In consideration of Zeitgeist, I stopped regarding it as legitimate information during the comparison of all of the religious gods to Jesus Christ. The claims that the narrator made were simply laughable and do not have any historical, empirical evidence. To me, it smacked of someone with an agenda against Christianity (or religion period) and I could not take it seriously.

However, I am still not convinced that 19 hodgepodge terrorists usurped our country's security and intelligence and managed to bring down these planes and buildings with a few box cutters.

I completely agree with this. The reason for all of these conspiracies is because we are kept in the dark by our government and media of everything that is really happening in our world today. Much of this (conspiracy) stems from hearsay; some believe it, others dismiss it.

The company I worked for at the time was in those buildings and it was no joke. The two largest insurance brokers in the world were the floors that had direct impact. I know many people that lost their lives there.

Dr Jones from BYU has long been thought of as a joke. He is a radical. He has strong beliefs (religious and otherwise) and when the press finally proves him wrong every few years he vanishes and then comes back with a new theory. Atleast that is what many in the press and public feel about him. Take a look at his track record.

These remind me of the same people that are convinced the Holocaust didnt happen, and so on.

If you think that what happend on 9/11 is about a few guys with box cutters, I suggest you read a little more about what actually happened.

After doing some research I discovered Debunking 9/11 Conspiracy Theories . So far I have read quite a bit about Dr. Jones. He is not a credible source, as these folks appear to be. Though he is a physicist, he has no experience with Civil Engineering. He has never had a paper published in a credible journal relating to Civil Engineering.
I am trying to discredit this video myself, and I thank everyone for there insight.

Like I said in the post I made above yours. He is a radical that has never really done anything except make outlandish opinions.

Yes, that is what I was responding too.

After reading most of the debunking911.com website, there is so much evidence against every conspiracy about what happened on 9/11 that it is impossible that such a conspiracy exists after reading it. Every conspiracy is founded on misinformation and misinterpretation of quotes and research. I encourage everyone to read through this website. I just spent the last 2 hours reading it.

So now I am guessing you think the movie is complete crap? Kind of ironic from your initial post.

I never said I believed all aspects of the movie. It certainly made me question and that is the reason I researched it for myself.

    • I have been debating getting a launch monitor of some sort, if only so I can re-figure my shot zones (I haven't actually mapped them in years) and also to practice distance wedges at home.  I have to see if this works with either my current setup, or what my setup would be if I move it to the garage.
    • Day 48, June 23.  After work today, I took 25 minutes in my practice room;  6-iron, same everything as yesterday except the time and count.
    • Well, this is interesting.  I think we discovered a few months ago that I haven't been following professional golf in a while (my confusion about Scotty's footwork confirmed that), so at least as I aim to follow a bit more I'll get something new to learn with all of you.  My very quick read of Erik's summary makes me think this new Challenger series fits somewhere between Korn Ferry and the Championship (not Champions, but I know I'm going to make that mistake a few times if I'm not careful!).   My recollection is that there were already second-tier events among the PGA Tour;  the Bob Hope didn't have the same quality of field as the event at Riviera (whose current name I forget, although now that I say that, I realize the Palm Springs event hasn't been called the Bob Hope in a few years either).   With the absence of the FedEx (if I'm reading that correctly), does that mean no more FedEx Cup at all? Hopefully I'll have time later in 2026 to sit down and see what we're in for in 2027, where one of my goals already is to follow more professional golf.
    • The highlights as I see them: Championship and Challenger Series The creation of the PGA Tour and the PGB Tour, in the words of Joel Dahmen a few years ago. They're calling them the Championship Series (23-24 events) and the Challenger Series (20+ events). Both run February to August. They feel this will achieve three things: increasing the consistency and quality of fields across the season creating a clear system for players to earn and retain status and delivering a more structured and competitive experience for fans and partners—all in an effort to strengthen meritocracy. Championship Series Structure and Eligibility The 23-24 events includes the Players, majors, season-ending events, and the Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup. These will be 72-hole events with a 36-hole cut to the top 65 and ties and purses of $20M+. 120 players without an alternate list. 90 players (roughly) from the previous year and 20 players promoted from the Challenger Series. Full eligibility will be finalized later this year. Sites (cities) to be finalized soon, but 10 of the 15 courses have already been determined. Postseason: includes retention and relegation and concludes with match play. The Tour Championship will also be played across a rotation of prestigious courses. Challenger Series Structure and Eligibility 20+ events. Running concurrently. Will feature players fighting their way back to the Championship Series or players graduating and on the upswing from the Korn Ferry Tour. Many of these events will be current PGA Tour courses. About 7 of the Challenger Series events will be during off weeks for the Championship Series with elevated purses and visibility. Purses of at least $4M, with cuts similar to the Champ series. 144 player fields. Competitive Fields for Both Series Players will be eligible for only one series at a time: Championship Series Players are not eligible for Challenger Series events. Championship Series members will have a known schedule with all events having the same eligibility. Players and Majors will have their own eligibility criteria. Championship Series players don't have to play all events. This begs the question about, say, the Canadian Open, and other "home-town" events that players might want to play, even if they're Challenger Series events. Will releases be granted? Promotion and Relegation At least 90 players will be retained in the Championship Series, and 20 players will be promoted from the Challenger Series each year. Battlefield promotion for two-time winners from the Challenger Series. Players relegated from the Championship Series will have a "last chance" opportunity to retain status, or will go to the Challenger Series. Criteria will be finalized before the start of the 2027 season. Points System New points system (not FedExCup points). Separate points systems for the Championship and Challenger Series. Elevated points in the Challenger Series for off-weeks on the Championship Series. More details tk. Elevated International Events in the Fall The fall schedule will include a limited series of elevated international events with top players from the Championship Series, with the intent to deliver in partnership with the DP World Tour as part of the Strategic Alliance. Last Chance Series The Tour will develop a “last chance” series of 4-6 events in the fall, with a limited number of spots on the Championship Series available for top finishers. Eligibility will include players relegated from the Championship Series, Challenger Series players, and other categories to be determined. Q-School continues, as do the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Latinoamerica. Also, Brian Rolapp is the new commissioner as of January 1, 2027.
