As some of you may remember my past post about honeymoons. Well I have changed things up a bit. I want to save some money so I can buy a house by the end of the year... My fiance suggested Door County, Wi.

Shes been there when she was younger I have never been there. I've been looking through hotels, cabins, bed & breakfast etc...

What is the best place to stay? And what golf courses do you recommend? any insight would be awesome!

Thanks!

The wife and I were there a few years ago. We stayed at the Church Hill Inn in Sister Bay. It was a "bed and breakfast" hotel. I don't remember the room name, but it was the top of the line jacuzzi suite . The facilities were very nice and the people were friendly. They also had an "honor bar" by the front desk. I made 3 or 4 trips to the bar that night (and early morning). You take what you want, write it down, and they bill your room. The breakfast the next morning was also good. There are a bunch of nice places there though. I think it was the Blacksmith Inn that we were also interested in.

There is a road to the tip of the peninsula that is really cool too. The road could be straight for a mile or so, but they made it all curvy. All in all Door County is a pretty decent place to hang out for a while

Can't comment on the golf courses as I haven't played any in Door County.

As for a place to stay, the Newport Resort in Egg Harbor was really nice. Places to eat include Shipwrecked and Casey's . The wineries are a must to visit if you enjoy wine. I would say to make sure you set aside enough time to visit the various small shops and parks throughout Door County but since it's your honeymoon, well...
