  1. I'd like to know where I actually said that I considered it the deeper tour... "You are always going to see the tour you watch the most as the "deeper tour", purely because you will recognise more of the journeyman players on a tour that you have more interest in." Oh that's right...no where
  2. I also heard it was fairly windy there, and the poor scoring seems to back that up. If so, then perhaps Rory can play in the wind after all
  3. 17 GIR and 29 putts will usually give you a good result He seems very determined to give himself a chance to take down Donald on the money list
  4. Well sorry to disagree then. I think the best players should be playing the top events, regardless of what tour they are on or in what country they are played in.
  5. They have messed up the leaderboard on the euro tour site. They have changed the course from last year (removed a par 3, the 2nd I believe, and built a different one, now the 15th) but they have failed to update this onto their system. I knew something was up when everyone was bogeying and double bogeying the par 3 144 yard 12th (It's actually a par 5) Just thought I'd give a heads up to any fellow confused golf fans.

  7. The best field out of the 2 small field events this week. Of course the Tiger event will get more attention since it's Tigers event, but 3 of the Worlds top 4 and 4 of the last 7 major champions (minus McIlroy, Bradley and Oosthuizen) deserve some attention too Donald's first event since the death of his father and the birth of his daughter, so it will be interesting to see how he plays on his return! The senior event running alongside the main event will be a bit of fun too... SENIORS: 10h20 - Mark O'Meara (USA), David Frost (RSA) 10h32 - Mark Calcavecchia (USA), Tom Lehman (USA) 10h44 - Nick Price (ZIM), Bernhard Langer (GER) 10h56 - Ian Woosnam (WAL), Jeff Sluman (USA) MAIN FIELD: 11h10 - Robert Karlsson (SWE), Simon Dyson (ENG) 11h22 - Luke Donald (ENG), Anders Hansen (DEN) 11h34 - Martin Kaymer (GER), Darren Clarke (N IRE) 11h46 - Charl Schwartzel (RSA), Francesco Molinari (ITA) 11h58 - Kyung-Tae Kim (S KOR), Graeme McDowell (N IRE) 12h10 - Jason Dufner (USA), Lee Westwood (ENG)
  8. I decided to join in on the fun instead
  9. I'm glad someone else posted, I thought I would be by myself there for a while I really love this course, short but tricky and players can go really low if they are straight and hole a few putts. Poulter shot 60 last year. I hope to see someone with a chance of 59 with a few holes to go this year! It's a great weekend for golf. Watch Rory and co in Hong Kong in the morning, Luke and co in South Africa during the day followed by Tiger and co at his event in the evening
  10. Rory's game really suits the American 'hit it high and long' golf courses, so it is definitely the right decision for him. He has won twice on American soil, and what a memorable 2 wins they were.
  11. Could be worse, he could be a fat dumb yank
  12. And winning too. He sure does like that pose.
  13. I looked it up there and saw that Gmac got 50 points last year for winning it. A Major gives you 100...half the points of a major for a field of 18 event which is basically a bit of fun?
  14. Same can be said for the FedEx Cup. Or he could go to America and read the bible with Webb Simpson and wear a hat too big for him with Fowler.
  15. I'm going to refrain from biting on that comment ^^
  16. The last regular event on the Euro Tour this season before the Dubai World Championship. McIlroy must win or else Donald is guaranteed to win the European Money List. Ian Poulter the defending champion. This will be the 53rd straight year that the event has been held on the Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling. Lots of players looking to keep there cards this week also of course. Any interest on here? Entry List: http://www.europeantour.com/europeantour/season=2011/tournamentid=2011089/teetimes/index.html
  17. This. Quote:
  18. I'm disappointed Ireland failed to get the job done for the 2nd time in a row... Oh well.. Does anyone think it would be a good idea for this tournament that the winning country would host the next event? I think it would bring back a bit of interest to it....rather then having it in China constantly meaning it is basically unwatchable in Europe and probably the US too.
  19. I like the stat that the current top 3 have won 5 of the last 8 majors between them
  20. There will be arguments all over Northern Ireland after this picture was posted in all the major Irish newspapers today
  21. Kaymer said it only a few weeks ago at the HSBC CHampions though, so I doubt he will change his mind in that short a time. He will join eventually, I just don't think it will be next year.
  22. He said he wouldn't be joining for 2012 a while back.
  23. I have a rookie of the year question that I think makes sense to post in this thread. Will Charl Schwartzel be the first ever PGA Tour rookie to win a major and not win Rookie of The Year? (since Bradley will obviously win it) Also, please don't start this "he wasn't a real rookie, so no" rubbish. He was a rookie by PGA Tour definitions and was on the ballot, so he is a rookie whether you like it or not
  24. All that leaves is Kaymer now. He already has as many PGA Tour wins as Westwood, despite never being a member of the tour
  25. Do you mind if I join you? Being a successful pro golfer sounds like fun. I'm going to practise my chipping once a week, I should be down to scratch by Christmas.
