  2. Yup correct, 'regaining flex on the downswing' is what I was referring to, I suppose it did happen automatically...and contact was solid as ever, but during the follow through, I found my entire body lifting up and all the weight ended up on my back foot. Not at every iron shot, but maybe 60% of the time. I should probably get a video up to explain it better. I guess now it's a small matter of fine-tuning the weight-shift after impact. But the great thing is that my swing path HAS been corrected, and the shots are getting more accurate.
  3. This worked for me during my last round. Stopped hitting it fat. My follow through was all over the place though (felt kinda funny implementing the knee flex), but the ball went straight, got a lot more GIRs and I played to my handicap for the round. Such a simple fix. Will hafta work on the follow through but so far so good. Thanks again!

  5. Nice! sounds like a great place to start. Can't wait to watch
  6. Tried this out on my last 2 rounds. It worked well with my irons, got some of the slicing sorted out. But didn't do as well with my driver. Takes minimal time getting used to gripping harder at address...especially when the results are better than before.
  7. Actually a friend mine now uses penta and he was spinning his ball alot more than I was during our round last weekend. I found it a bit strange but that's exactly what happened. Need to find out more about this.
  8. When my group first started playing golf, we actually managed to take 8 hours! hahahaha! Tee'd off at 8am and walked off 18 at 4pm. We let just about every flight behind us play through. Now that I look back all those years, it's amazing we didn't get kicked out after 9 holes. The marshalls did give us some stick for crossing over so late. Needless to say, we now play at a decent pace: 4 to 4.5 hours on average. Although during the round I do feel that the guys could be a little quicker about their putting etc. Everyone should at least remind their flight mates from time to time to speed up play. If you can keep it under 4.5 hours there should be minimal interaction with the group following you. If we're playing under 4 hours I would imagine that everything is done very quickly, and we're good enough to not send any balls into the rough.
  9. There are days when my 60 has saved my life, and there are days when I just wanna hurl it across the fairway. It does take a little more attention than the rest to make it work well every time.
  10. Have tried both, but I prefer the feeling at impact that the Pro V1 gives...like I'm hitting a heavy ball. Just my personal pref I guess. That same feeling works well with my putting too. It feels solid.
  11. I suggest playing all kinds of balls to find out which one suits you the best. This you will learn over time as you hit more rounds in. You never know what ball ends up being the best for your game. But yea, get em secondhand. When I first started out I would go to the course with 20 balls and loose all of them after a round. Just get ready for that. Once you get better you will probably have already found a favorite ball. If your can really swing it well then no harm in trying out all the high end balls to see which one suits you best. In short, experiment...get as many rounds in as you can with all types of balls. Once you stop losing so many (say 5 or less balls per round) have a look at the higher end ones.
  12. Hi all, Just wanted to drop a short line...been a regular visitor to the Sand Trap website for a few years now. I always get an opinion or two from the forums or the reviews section before trying out new equipment. I consider this site the best source for info on anything golf-related. If anyone ever gets a chance to drop by Kuala Lumpur, feel free to msg me for a game. Cheers, Zak
  13. Acknowledging that the pressure is there and being positive about it has really helped. I have now replaced the anxiety with a more methodical thought process. I can't do anything about where the ball has ended up, but I can do something about where it will be after my next shot. Addressing the ball with a clearer head has been invaluable. Been taking a lot of money off my mates since coming across this thread hahha!
