  2. Finally got to see the putter in person.... it is absolutely incredible. The craftsmanship and level of detail is fantastic. Really nice feel too. The head is silicon bronze with a polished nickel coating. Shaft looks to be a true temper stepless square. They installed a WinnPro X 1.18" after I told them what grips I like. I've never felt this particular grip before, but I'm really liking it so far. Definitely give GolfAlchemy a look if you're wanting any custom work. Here are a few pics.
  3. It looks incredible. I have yet to see it in person, but I know it's waiting for me when I get back home this weekend. Thanks again to Mario and TST staff for this awesome contest. Mario was an absolute pleasure to deal with, and it's obvious that the workmanship from Golf Alchemy is top notch. edit: I can't get over how cool the dual pistol alignment mark is.
  4. Here's a face-on of me doing the drill yesterday. Didn't realize how long the backswing was. Should I work on shortening that for the drill? Also looks like I'm not getting the hands very forward. Thoughts?
  5. Making a little bit of progress. I've done about 3 buckets worth of the weight preset drill, and it looks like it may take 3 more. I'll record myself doing the drill next time, because I may be doing it wrong, or swinging to fast or something. I am somewhat inconsistent with contact. Here's a full swing from the last session. I also need to work more diligently on the back swing issues Erik mentioned. It looks like it will be staying above the upper 40s for the next week or so, so I'll have some good days to practice.
  6. Will do! This will be a good opportunity to practice my product photography. Mario from Golf Alchemy already has the ball rolling on the putter. He mentioned the fact that the putters are forged in the same factory as F1 Maclaren and Rolls Royce parts , which the gearhead part of me found super cool. Overall, from what I've read and seen, I should expect some top notch work.
  7. Awesome! Thanks everybody. And thanks to Golf Alchemy and the whole TST crew for running this. That's going to be a lot of fun to putt with.
  8. I'm in. Already have some avatar ideas, most of which involve Bama football.
  9. Can already tell that it's going to take a lot of work to change the picture when it comes to weight transfer. Question about the legs and feet.... How much emphasis should be placed on what the right foot (for a righty) does at impact? I find myself struggling to keep the inside of the right foot down at impact, even with the preset drill. Is a planted right foot at impact a commonality of a good swing? Looking back at other threads and pro swings, it looks like it isn't, but is it something I should work on eliminating?
  10. Thanks for the swift response Erik. Biggest issue now is consistency with contact. Thins and chunks outnumber the solid hits at the moment.
  11. I feel like I finally have the turn ingrained. So what should be my next focus? Weight shift? Swing plane?
  12. Just saw this thread... for some reason, after seeing the Dirty Harry wedge, Scarface popped in my head. I might do another design or two before the deadline if that's cool. Obviously other little design cues could be added to it.
  13. It still feels weird and different, but definitely feels more powerful and athletic.

  15. Focused only on the hip turn today, and had the longest practice session ever doing so. I screen grabbed my position at the top of the swing from over a week ago compared to today for posterity. Lots of work ahead of me.
  16. Our defense will give you troubles, but the offense will not be able to take advantage. It should go similar to the way the Ole MIss game went for us. That moment above is why I miss Kiffin in a way. He remained competitive with the big boys.
  17. Agree, especially with the bolded part. With the problems we've been having with the offense and O-line, at times it just feels like Butch and Bajakian are dead set on their system and are unwilling to adapt to the personnel issues. Because of that, I don't feel like we will see a lot of success until Butch is able to get 3 or 4 full recruiting cycles in.
  18. His play calling and offensive schemes are what I miss the most. The majority of TN fans love Butch, so I think he will be given enough time to prove himself. Personally, I love a lot of things about him and he's a messiah compared the previous regime, but his (and his assistants') in-game coaching is still an unknown. Time will tell. With his phenomenal recruiting, he will have no excuses, talent and experience wise.
  19. Oh, it should be entertaining in that regard. I don't hold much animosity towards him. Yeah, the way he left has pretty crappy, and his single recruiting class became one of the biggest busts ever, but he brought elements to the team that I miss. Most Vol fans disagree though.
  20. Yeah, that's a classic. Enjoy watching us get smashed again this Saturday. Maybe we'll be competitive again at some point in my lifetime. May take a few more coaching changes though... we can't get enough of those.
  21. Will do. I've lurked for a few years, but I'll make an effort to post more. As far as not making full swings, I'll try to improve my practice methods. I've been doing a lot of backswing rehearsals and mirror work in my apartment lately. Could you elaborate please? What am I looking for in that picture... a lack of weight shift?
  22. I feel like I'm progressing. Thanks boogie for that link... it helped me a lot. I took it a lot slower on the range today and just deliberately tried to focus on turning.... lots of practice swings and slow tempo swings. I still like I got a ways to go as the full turn still feels "weird" but I'll get there with time. I'm also still doing weird things with the right leg. I hit a few driver shots at the end for the heck of it as well (last video). There's still a swing path issue, but I think it has a lot to do with the lack of turn. When I turned decently, the ball went straight. Didn't turn to well on this swing below.
  23. Any tips on what sort of feeling(s) I should be thinking of to force myself to turn more? I went to the range today for the first time since posting this video, and looking at the footage from the day, I made little if any change to my swing. It "felt" like I was turning more, but in reality I wasn't.
  24. I took another look at this after looking at some tour swings. Is my main issue with the lack of hip turn? I don't know why they aren't turning. If I make a conscious effort in a practice swing, then I can turn them no problem. Once a ball is in front of me, then it becomes an issue.
  25. I've been Playing Golf for: I've had my clubs for 3 years or so, but only been on a course a handful of times in my lifetime. My current handicap index or average score is: no clue, other than to say pretty high My typical ball flight is: anything above a mid-iron tends to fade. Slices are common for woods/driver The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: the fade and slice. My embarrassing miss is a dud that goes about 20 or 30 yards and slices to almost perpendicular of the target line. Throw an occasional fat or thin shot in there too. So I feel like I'm finally ready to post up my swing to the forum. I've been a member for a few years, but never posted anything. I've watched tons of videos and have spent quite a bit of time in the swing thoughts forum in an attempt to build a swing. This is what I've come up so far. I've never had lessons, mainly due to financial reasons (college student). In general, I know things are off with my swing, hence the fades/slices. I'm usually hitting in the middle of the face (judging by ball/grass marks), but my shots typically end up going right. I started to fade the ball towards the end of my range session today from changing the feel of the takeaway... no clue why really. Obviously I have no experience analyzing a golf swing, but looking at myself, something seems off in the lower body. I'm very flexible, but it seems like I'm making no use of that flexibility. All I'm looking for is some semblance of consistency. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And I apologize in advance for the mediocre quality. I'll get my tripod and DSLR next time. Time stamps are in the description. Both angles at regular and slo-mo speeds are included in this one video.
