  1. I shot the most frustrating 74 of my life yesterday. Didn't make a put outside 3 feet and three putted for par three times and for bogey another 4-5 times. I'd hit a good shot then miss putt after putt after putt...
  2. I agree... whenever most poeple find out that you golf you get asked the question "how far do you drive it?". So if I tell them them the honest answer of 270-280, then they of course say "man I hit it like 300 every time"... so I usually deflect and tell them my handicap or ask them for their handicap or how far they hit it. Sure we can all swing out of our shoes and hit that high number, but an average is an average... and it includes every hit (tops, shanks, skies, skulls, all included).
  3. Well I guess durable wouldn't be the best term... but compared to the TPs and HXs (which I haven't hit since last year so I'm not sure if they have improved) they usually make it through the round.
  4. On a 215 yard par 3 during an interclub match at an away course... It looked a little down hill so I initially pulled out my 5 iron but changed my mind and pulled out the 4 iron. I absolutely nutted the club and it landed 10 feet short and 5 feet right of the hole and rolled up to 6 inches right of the hole. One of the players we were against had a 60 foot birdie put and he missed and my tap in birdie won the hole :)
  5. Improve Driving Consistency - Work on swing tempo to create a consistent trajectory and shot pattern. I tend to progressively swing faster as the round goes on leading to a different shot throughout the whole round. Distance isn't a problem so I am going to try to slow things down and maintain a consistent tempo hopefully leading to greatly increased accuracy. Regain Scoring Zone Putting - Over the last 5 years this has been the best part of my game (puts within 20 feet especially within 10 feet), however throughout the beginning of this season I have been struggling. 100 Yards and Under - This has actually greatly improved since last year and even since the beginning of this year, but it hasn't shown due to the aforementioned putting problems. Defend Club Championship Title - I won our club championship for the first time last year and would like to at least put in a good effort in defending it. There are a few new good golfers at the club and it should make for a good tournament. Add a Hybrid - Pretty self explanatory... I want determine the best way for me to incorporate a hybrid into my bag to fill the gap between my longest iron and my 4-wood.
  6. I mean the Baffler Pro... not the DWS
  7. I threw my left shoulder out this year while hitting my PW of the tee on a par 3. I'm not sure what actually happened but it just sort of popped then my mind aborted the swing and then hit ground pretty hard which probably didn't make anything better. Basically I just had to slow my swing way down and work my way around the injury and I was completely better within 2 or 3 weeks. I think people just don't warm up properly before golf games. If you look at sports like golf and soccer you are expected to warm up for at LEAST 30-60 min before playing. Now golf may not require that long but a good stretching/warm-up routine expecially for the shoulders/back/core areas should help to prevent many common golf injuries.
  8. I am undecided between an Adam's Idea Pro and a Cobra Baffler DWS Pro... anyone have either of these?
  9. I really am a big fan of the new Taylor Made TP's... they just lack the durability of the Pro V1's.
