  1. New poster here from CT. So here we go. I'm a 28 year old 2 handicap former college golfer. Last few years I started getting back into the game and playing decent. My bag is mp33's with s300's, standard everything, that's how I measure up after fitting. I'm very strong and hit the woods and hybrids as far as I should. My question has to do with my wedge/irons distances being weird. I feel like I should be getting more distance out of my long irons and a more defined difference gap in short irons/wedges. Also I have a weird distance around 160-170 were I'm either laying on 8 or hitting a baby 7. I hit plenty of greens and lose all my strokes with the putter, I'm just curios and would like to see some opinions. Here's a list on full swings: 3i 210-220 4i 190-210 5i 180-190 6i 175-185 7i 165-180 8i 140-160 9i 120-145 pw 110-125 51w 85-120 55w 50-100 60w 0-60 Now obviously I can hit any of these clubs different lengths based on shot type and generally just take a tough yardage and hit everything by feel. I hit around 13 greens per round so that isn't a huge issue, I was just wondering why my yardage a seem so weird. They may not be weird at all, and I'm overanalyzing the strength of my game. Thanks
  2. MLB baseball players have been wearing them since the 50's
  3. Flat brim hats come from baseball, they keep the sun out of your eyes while not obscuring your vision. Perfect for golf, if you can pull off the look.
  4. Depends on the pin. More often than not its s knockdown 52 with enough spin to bounce once and stop if it lands on flat ground.
  5. I like using all of my clubs. The harder and more unfair the course is the the more likely ill be to pay and play it again. Only thing I can't stand is poor maitenance. If I miss a putt because I pulled it, fine, but if I missed it because the cups been getting stepped on for 3 days and they havnt changed it, not ok.
  6. 90% of the time shanks come from getting nervous and speeding up the take away. Hit a dozen balls with a super slow mo backswing, regular down and follow through. Then get back up to your "regular" speed in increments. If you shank one on the course, just slow everything down in your head.
  7. Course distances and range distances are much different. My course numbers are around. Dr - 265-320 "depending on the shot" 3w - 225-255 "" 2h - 210-230 "" 3i - 200-230 "" 4i - 190-215"" 5i - 180-195"" 6i - 170-185 7i - 155-175" 8i - 140-160 "" 9i - 120- 150 "" Pw 90-135 "" 52 - 0-120"" 56 - 0-100 ""
  8. My swing has not changed and the shafts are definitely regulars. I'm just confused as I've always been told how I need stiffer shafts because of the torque I put on the club and my recent success with these regular flexes.
  9. Hey guys, new here. been reading for a while, havn't posted, but like the site. a little background on me, and my game first. I've been playing for 15 years (i'm 25 now). i now play to a 5.4 index, only getting out once or so a month due to work and family scheduling. I'm 5'10" a little heavier than average, and very strong. I've always had a really short swing, but it never cost me distance. all my power comes from torque and release of my core and hips, also have very strong legs. i hit the driver as far as anyone, with little more than a 3/4 swing. i had been playing blades since my college golf, but finally gave up on them because i just don't have the consistancy to get away with them anymore. started playing with an older set of titleist 704cb's i had laying around. i'm absolutely loving them. i've missed 6 greens in my last 36 holes. here's where the shaft question comes into play. i think that these shafts are regular flex. i say i think, because i must've taken the labels off a long time ago, and i can't tell. they feel lighter in flex compared to s300's and my rifle 5.5's. i'm thinking that i'm hitting these irons so well BECAUSE of the different shafts. i have a pretty fast and very powerful swing. is there a way that i could've been getting hurt playing stiff shafts in my irons all these years? also, my driver : titleist 905s 8.5 graffaloy blue: stiff wouldnt change a thing about it, i rarely miss fairways and i crush the ball hybrid: Cobra baffler 2r s300 steel, wouldnt change that either, love it.
  10. wow, those might be the ugliest shoes i've ever seen
  11. anyone ever seen a nice pair of spikes with black shell and white saddle? too cheap to get myjoys.
