  1. if you can get to a shot simulator then you can usually try a lot of different irons. I thought i was going to get the g15s when i went there and hit about 20 balls with about 8 different 7 irons from different sets and settled on the 2.0s
  2. try the taylor made 2.0s but get to a golf simulator to see your clubhead speed which will dictate the shaft flex. Also, i love the 2.0s but you may hit better with other game improvement clubs.
  3. No problem with it. I used to do that regularly because i'm not gonna sit home because nobody i golf with can play that day. 2 weeks ago i played by myself on a crowded course where i had foursomes ahead and behind me. I just teed up four balls on each hole and kept good pace and really got to practice. I've also ended up finding other people to play with by meeting them when I play by myself.
  4. im a 20 something handicap so you might take my advice with a grain of salt because you're a lower handicap. One of the few things i focus on is rotating from open to close from my back to forward swing. Most importantly I try to focus on making it straight at the moment of impact.
  5. i'm going back to the dr tonight to make sure that it's fixed, i think what i did helped with a preshot routine, but my longer irons are usually the last part of my game to fall into place. Thats not including a fairway 3 wood which i have never hit consistently. Once i get my swing to feel good and consistent with my low irons, then i'll try to tackle that demon.
  6. Seriously speaking, You're dad would probably love to spend time with you playing golf. A lot of father/son's don't have much in common or share similar interests. You've found something that you can do together and you can learn a lot from him. I'm sure he'd like to show you the ropes. I'm 36 and I wish my dad did play so we could have more to do together.
  7. Thanks for the responses. I will try these drills out. I actually went to the driving range last night. What i did was set up to the ball and then take 2 to 3 practice swings inside of the ball focusing on the bottom of my swing arc being slightly before the ball and allso make sure that i was keeping the club head low when i took it away and came through. Then i just slid the club head forward and swung through. It was the first time i hit this 4i, 5i, and 6i with any consistency. Man did it feel good to crush that four iron finally.
  8. I just purchase burner 2.0s. I can hit the AW through the 7 iron pretty consistently, but i'm mishitting or topping my 4,5, and 6 at least 70 percent of the time. Im 6'4" and i got a standard set because i was hitting the 7 iron so well and straight on the virtual hitting machine at golfsmith. I'm about a 25 handicap. Any suggestions or drills would be greatly appreciated.
  9. try hitting the taylor made 2.0s. I thought i was going to purchase g15s until i hit the 2.0s on a simulator. they were straighter and longer for me at least. a close second to the burners were the k15s and then the g15s
  10. I read a lot of good review on these when i was looking for a new set of irons, so i figuered i'd return the favor. I actually went to a local shop which has the virtual golf setup with the intention of buying the ping g15s in my size (silver dot i'm 6' 4"). I hit the g 15 in my size, the k15 of the rack, burner 2.0 of the rack and about 7 other irons. i'm a 25 handicap and my best game of golf about 4 years ago was an 87, since then i just started playing regularly about 5 months ago. I've been playing with the original set of irons i bought in 1995 which were knockoffs of the king cobras at the time which i had extended an inch. Back to the store. the only 2 sets that were consistend were the k15s and the 2.0s. The g15s were the third best so those were out. After hitting about 30 to 40 balls with each of them, my dispersion was tighter and i was longer with the 2.0s. I got the regular flex 85 shaft and i'm wondering if it was a mistake to not get longer shafts but i was hitting so straight that i don't think it will be an issue. I've now played with them about 5 times and have gone to the range several times. I am still having problems with my 4 and 5 irons and some times the 6. But my 7,8,9,pw, and AW are so consistent it's ridiculous. Not since i was practicing 3 to 4 times a week, have i been able to go to a driving range and hit more than 80% of the bucket well as long as i stay away from the low irons. I am also still tweaking and finding my swing again so to hit that well with them was really impressive. I am not able to get on in 2 with a lot more consistensy then i've had. I was shooting in the about 105 average from the back tees and now i am in the high 90s. Highly Recommend these. Any questions or recommendations for those low irons. Let me know. Rodrigo
