Where's the like button? I liked that video. My present project is driving around town taking photos of signs painted on buildings for companies who are no longer in existence. Also architecture of old homes. I will donate the photos to the historical society in our town.

Yes I know. I was opposed to it and voiced my opinion. It wasn't spelled out in the rules pages. It was announced at the dinner prior to the tournament. It was never brought back.
-
Jeffrey: That's a different story. How can you tell whether it's a repaired divot or not? They have to draw the line somewhere or you would be out there forever. You might as well play 'winter rules' if it's going to be an arbitrary call by yourself.
-
I think the only reason for the rule in the first place was that it would take forever for some guys to putt out if they could pave their way to the hole. A tournament at our club once. The rule was waived and spike marks could be tamped down. It took forever to finish the round.

It's like' travelling' in basketball. It's more like the triple jump in track now. It's never called. I always thought the line of putt was "sacred" territory. It's hard to tell however if they are doing it in their line of putt or off the line.

I would love to enter but not a U.S. Citizen. Is it o.k. to enter and donate the prize to charity if we win. Canadians are nuttier about golf than Americans in my estimation.

Don't try to explain. It upset you and you did the best you could under the circumstances. The guy would have lambasted you and would have called you on it for 'ratting' on him if you didn't confront him when he was kicked off the course. Why do people get so passionate about what they consider right and wrong? Take the test. Welcome to YourMorals.org, where you can learn about your own morality, ethics, and/or values, while also contributing to scientific research. We are a group of professors and graduate students in social psychology at the University of Virginia, The University of California (Irvine), and the University of Southern California. (See us here .) Our goal is to understand the way our "moral minds" work . Why do people disagree so passionately about what is right? Why, in particular, is there such hostility and incomprehension between members of different political parties? By filling out a few of our surveys, you'll help us answer those questions We, in return, will give you an immediate report on how you scored on each study, quiz, or survey. We'll show you how your responses compare to others and we'll tell you what that might say about you. So please join us and register , then begin exploring your morality . Registration takes just 2 minutes, and it will allow us to hold your scores for you so that you may return at any time and continue to build up your "morality profile." I like your post. Just call the clubhouse. That's the proper approach. Having said that. I would have confronted him. I simply couldn't have resisted size or no size. It's one of those things in life where you just let your temper take over and let the chips fall where they may. But don't get me wrong. I don't recommend it to others.

This is the kind of post I don't admire in a democracy. We do things the way we want to and if you don't like it go somewhere else? That hardly leads to good discussions with another point of view. We then get preaching to the choir and everyone is happy? Should the board just play a song when someone posts something a little controversial? Like: "Hit the road Jack, and don't come back no more, no more, no more, no more".

Another viewpoint. Good reading. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/golf-devil-ball-golf/teeing-off-jack-nicklaus-fare-today-223813268.html;_ylt=AlkOegaW8iPj0AG5uHh1zs05nYcB Interesting article on how Nicklaus would fare today on Tour.

It really gets down to greens in regulation. If you cant hit greens in regulation you can expect your score to be at least 18 over par and that's if you can get down with two putts. 72 + 18 = 90

http://averagegolfer1.blogspot.ca/2008/06/average-golfer-statistics.html The average handicap for men and women is coincidentally 15.2 for both.**(Please see comments for a correction to this statistic). Weird irony I suppose. The average score for all amateur golfers is over 100. Why the difference? People that maintain a legitimate handicap are much more avid golfers, hence they play more and are more successful at the game. Keep in mind that your handicap is not an indicator of what you usually score. It's an indication of what you're CAPABLE of scoring. Think of it as what you may score on one of your better days.

Are both of you on the green at the time?
-
Are you sure they are not Wilson optimax? Sometimes brands are renamed and sold by Sears or another chain and the name is close.
-
You don't have to say it. I catch on fast. But you have to admit something has to lighten up the sad faces on this board.
-
O.K. here's another one. Let's see if you can catch on to this one. An old favorite about the Golfer who has been slicing off the tee at every hole . . . . He finally gives up and asks his long suffering caddy. . . . . Golfer: "Can you see any obvious problems . . . .??" Caddy: "There's a piece of s..t on the end of your club." Golfer: He picks up his club up and cleans the club face . . . . Caddy: "No, sir, its at the other end."

When you get right down to it, you're suppose to holler Fore before you hit the ball not after. Think about it. If Fore is being hollered people must be in range.
-
Yeah sure. Like no one ever cheats at golf? Anyone ever hear about sandbaggers and handicaps over the years? The point of the joke in case someone missed it is : There is no honor among thieves.
-
If that's the case I am glad I posted it. I guarantee it will get a few yuks on men's night at the club after a few beers. Everyone is sitting there waiting for the ruling.
-
Especially when you have to translate it. It loses in the translation. "You mean you were both cheating?" Well yes. That's the joke.

Turtleback. My point was that the HOF stated that Jack was the Greatest. Since Tiger is not in the Hall of Fame we will have to wait to see if the HOF says Tiger is the greatest when he gets there. I don't think he's going to last as long as Jack Nicklaus and will drop out long before he is forty. You get your shirt in a knot over the most trivial matters. Anyone here making any kind of claims is voicing their opinion. My opinion is just as valid as yours. If I say I posted the HOF as a point of interest that was my reason.. Demolished which player is going to dominate longer? He's not dominating much lately is he now since the drives are flying over his. Lighten up man. You are taking this too seriously.
-
And what you didn't notice either is that you can't get into the Hall of Fame until you are forty years old. I posted it as a point of interest. That's all. Having seen both players in action I have an opinion. Have you seen both players in action? And the only thing that counts here is an opinion. Both players have dominated the game. Which player is going to dominate longer?
-
O.K. so now can we compare purses from the previous to the present for the apples if that's what you're going to use as a criterion. The guy in tenth place now probably has higher career earnings than Jack Nicklaus.
-
Jack is in the Hall of Fame. Tiger isn't. They made the claim of Greatest Golfer. Not me. Tiger also has three complete cycles? Then it's a tie?

World Golf Hall of Fame Profile: Jack Nicklaus By the most objective measure of all-the record-Jack Nicklaus is the greatest player who ever lived. http://www.worldgolfhalloffame.org/hof/member.php?member=1086
