  1. I would have a really hard time adjusting, but it would make it a lot easier to find the darn ball!
  2. I play the balls that I find off the range (since that is where I work) and I play those. I usually don't change out a ball unless it has a serious scuff. Of course, I don't play in tournaments either. I don't have the opportunities. On sucking the ball back, I play on extremely hard greens, so I never have that chance. Very few times are the greens receptive.
  3. Try your local course too. They will usually let you borrow a club for a round as long as you leave them your credit card. Great way to test it out. The G2 is a great club. I haven't had the pleasure of hitting it myself, but I've heard many people speak only good things about it. It would be a great choice. Take a good look at the Taylor Made r5. That is also a wonderful club, and very large, although I don't think it is quite 460 cc's.
  4. I don't know your swing or your handicap, but you have three options. You can go straight forgiving cavity back, slightly harder to hit cavity back, or a more difficult club like the Mizuno MP 30's. Here is what I suggest. If you are only going to work on your game a little bit, like hit the range only a few times a month, go with the Mizuno MX 23's. They'll give you enough forgiveness to keep the game fun. However, if you are willing to practice, I highly recommend the clubs TaylorMadeFan suggested. That is, Titleist 690 CB, Nike Forged Pro Combo, Mizuno MP 30, and the Ben Hogan Apex FXT Forged Combo. These are all very well made clubs, and very accurate. They are also lacking in the forgiveness department. At first you might have trouble. But, if you are willing to take some lessons, and dilligently practice those lessons, your scores will drop with these clubs. The reason for this is because these clubs will force you to groove a consistent, proper swing. They won't let you get away with a garbage swing like the RAC's will. No, go with something that will force you to get better. If you have anymore specific questions pertaining to this subject or these club models, just let me know!
  5. I'm a pretty good player, but I still can't hit a 3 iron flush every time, especially with blades. So, for me, a switch to a steel shafted Taylor Made Rescue Mid might be a great choice. Also, hybrids have been known to replace both irons and fairway woods, freeing up more room for wedges.
  6. Yeah, they are pretty strict. I haven't got booted yet, but they warned me for posting too much with too little content. And believe me, I was posting a lot more content per post than the mods. They just didn't want a newbie catching up to them is all.
  7. You got it Head Pro dude! (If you don't mind, I'll make that your longer nickname.) GR is Golf Rewind, another golf forum.
  8. Oh, but either way, welcome! Hope you stay for a long time! See ya out there!
  9. Ah Maverick. How did you find your way here? After all, you got banned form GR. No offense, but I was just curious.
  10. Well, the most reliable way is always word of mouth. Starts out slow at first, but man, watch it grow. I know some people here don't like Golf Rewind, but its only 6 months old, and it has more than 1000 members. I think we could do the same thing here.
  11. Thanks for the tip! After all, who wants to be a 36 when they're really a 46??? JK. I seriously doubt we have a single golfer that bad.
  12. That way you might find the answer. But hey, like I said, you'll find it is almost exactly like a ProV1x. Try it if you don't believe me.
  13. Believe me, that's wrong. Check out some of the pro's on tour. They hit the ball way high. And I mean waaaay!!! I have a low ball flight, and I know that the higher I hit it, the better spin I get and the more accurate I get. That is why on my good days, the ball flies higher, and I score better. But then again, I could be backwards... Let me tell you a story. I was playing with a college golfer one day. He was either a very low single diget, or a scratch. He was playing Mizuno MP 33's. I had snatched a set of Ben Hogan CFT's out of the proshop, since I wanted to demo them. (Remember I work at a course) It was about 170 to the pin on this par three. Nasty bunker right in front. I took a six. I'm a bit of a short, low hitter. Well, I watch him throw a high ball about 10 feet from the pin. High as could be. He probably hit a 7 iron, but it was amazingly high. (BTW, I did hit six to about 8 feet. But waaaay lower than him) So, the point of the story is, I've seen some awesome golfers who can put the ball right on top of the pin, and still hit the ball high. And yes, he hit just about every iron that close.
  14. I can't stand visors. They just don't feel right. Especially on a windy day, and then the wind starts messing with my hair...I hate that feeling.
  15. That is a bummer man. Makes it tough. I have problems with those really big mallets. Mental block or something. I play a mallet, a smaller one, can't think of the name at the moment, but I think I'm going back to a blade. I'm just not sinking putts right now. Of course I know I need the practice, but I set up a mental block. Nasty thing, the mind, isnt' it?
  16. That is so funny. You play the same way I do. I use music as a way of expressing the parts of myself that I can't put into words. I used a cool edit, and still do at my house. But since my friend has audition, and everything is set up over there... The older and better I get, the more I play acoustic. I find that when i write a song, or have an idea for one, it almost always isn't a rock song. Its something softer. I'm a big fan of rock ballads. Its always the most straightforward way of expressing myself.
  17. I have a ben hogan hat right now, but I'm not playing my ben hogan blades anymore, so...
  18. That is what I love about my Mizuno MP 33's. When I'm playing good, the ball goes high!
  19. I know what you mean about the recording stuff. However, I have a friend who is a drummer and guitarist, and he has a room with his drums. He has Adobe Audition, so we just plug the guitars and the mics into an alexis mixer, the 12R I think, and then we record away. If I ever write enough songs, I plan to make an album. But that is a while away still. I never played a parker. Now I think I'll have to. I really need a new acoustic since I don't have a regular steel string. However, I don't need a new electric. But hey, I can dream right? I'd loooove to get a new, good mic, but they're expensive. I'd also like to get the Digitech GNX 4 workboard. I currently have the GNX 2, which is great, but I would love all the new features. Only problem is that they are 600 bucks. What types of music do you play?
  20. I'm currently in possesion of a Gretsch Les Paul Electromatic, a Yamaha 12 string acoustic, and and classical guitar. Can't remember the name though. I hope to eventually get a new acoustic-electric, but I don't have the money right now. On the line of dream guitars I want to get eventually... PRS 22/12 custom ten top 12 string electric. PRS custom 24 ten top Gibson Les Paul Custom Gibson Hummingbird Acoustic, And that Taylor acoustic-electric. I can't remember the name. Oh, and the schecter C1 - classic And a fender American Deluxe strat. I know, I'm bad, but I love guitars. Same problem in golf. I don't need to buy anything when I go into a golf shop, I just have to try everything. I don't play bass, but I could pick it up I think. Great instrument in certain settings, especially when there is no other people to play. You got a guitar wish list???
  21. Oh, I haven't even looked at my profile yet. Yeah, I'm not a 36, so I'd better fix that. I don't have an official handicap, but I'm guessing mine is around a 10 or lower. But I really can't say for sure...
  22. I know I'm going to get shot here, but I really don't watch much of anything on a regular basis. I used to watch Voyager all the time, but not anymore. Of course, I'm wwaaayy to busy with school to watch too much television.
  23. Alrighty, here is my vote and my reason. I recently purchased a set of Mizuno MP 33's, and I couldn't be happier with them. So I go forged blades, since you just can't match the precision, feel, and workability with any other clubs. I do love the Hogan Apex FTX's though, and well as the Titliest 690 MB and CB, and the Hogan Apex 50. And also the half cavity Mizuno MP 30. But yeah, I'm a traditionalist, and I love blades.
  24. I have to agree that par 3's are not the best. I was merely stating my favorite par three. I love par 5's. I may only average abou 250 yards, but I still love the challenge. At times you have to be so creative, so daring, so precise. Its golf at ists best. I'm still trying to figure out my favorite though.
  25. Lately, this has been a big issue. Whether to get blades or not. However, now with the introduction of forged cavities in the last couple of years, there are more options. Vote for your favorite category, and then explain why.
