Ignites would probably work, they are under 500 and quite a bit of forgiveness, but just a little workability. Enough for a 15 or higher.

It might be you pushing your hips out rather than turning them, or dropping you right shoulder, then it will make a very inside-out path, and if you aren't dead on with your hand flip over timing, you will spray it everywhere.

Titiest 585.H or Adams Idea Pro, Which should I get?
TheGolfer replied to TheGolfer's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I got the clubs that I have at the beginning of the year, when I was about a 30 handicap. I have taken lessons, and worked very hard, so now I am significantly less. I don't need much forgiveness, as they usually go very straight, but I want some workability to escape any trouble I might find myself in. The main thing is my putting, but I have a belly putter coming, so that will help, and I might be able to get down to a ten or so by the end of the fall. -
Puku belly putter! Adjustable and I love it! Also a Yes! Victoria putter. I like it, but not as much.

Key points to hitting a soft fade?
TheGolfer replied to Logie's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Aim left, and grip your left hand (for rights) harder, squeezing the handle, this will hold off the release. -
Use you driver to chip . No, just try to hit the ball, imagine that it is slightly above you feet, and take a little more club, as it will go higher and land a little softer.

Think about it this way, if you absolutely knew that you were going to make every putt, then it would be easy on you. You could take a dozen lessons, get your swing down, so you hit every green in regulation, then join the tour. Every gir, one putt, and your shooting 18 under par!

At my home course there is a pro... He plays on the champions tour, and uses a hybrid out of the rough. He showed me how to do it too . He said to choke way up, and hold it at an upright angle, almost as if it were a sternum putter, and grip down on the shaft. The try to hit it off the toe of the club, as it would slice through the rough easier and dampen the roll a little bit. He only uses on the fringe or within a foot of the green in the rough. I have used it this way with considerable success.

I can't hit my 3 wood off the deck :(
TheGolfer replied to LSeca's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Yes hit down on it, but not as much as a long iron, or even a hybrid, hitting down too much leads to inconsistent shots. -

Maybe you are hitting down into it too much, like an iron, try sweeping it more. -

Try getting a new three wood, it is most likely lost confidence from the one you have. That or see a pro. Or visit Golf tips http://www.golftipsmag.com/ -
Just tale a five iron, swing nice and easy three quarters, oh and put it back little less than half way, and check to see where you think it is is really were it is. I see lots of people with wedges off their front foot from a hundred yards out, and others with drivers in the middle of their stance.

This is what I do, rotate the hands so they are square, not open or closed. I went through a period of thinking more about my hands the=an contact with the ball. Also, the hands might not be the only thing. If you dip your right shoulder coming down, it will create a predominantly inside-out path, leading to slices. http://www.golftipsmag.com/instructi...y-riggs_4.html To fix this I started thinking of shoulder back, and now almost never hit it fat, hit it further, and hit it straight every time.

Trying to decided on which fairway wood to buy.
TheGolfer replied to nyjets2806's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
If you haven't hit the Titleist Pt906F2, try it. I swung it at my local Club, and immediately loved the feel of it. Its on my list of clubs to buy... Its got a nice heavy head and the default shaft is a Alida Nv or Nvs! Thats a hundred dollar shaft! Just give it a couple of swings, see if you like it. -
Arrrrssennnaallllll-Fore! Like that?

http://www.golftipsmag.com/instructi...n-command.html Is the back swing on the orientation as you body too?

I hardly ever play 18, I just threw that in there, i usually shoot low forties. (its my chipping that kills me, my ball striking is decent, also I have been taking lessons, so my handicap has probably gone down, only played 18 once or twice this summer ) :( Help on shot shaping would be helpful (no pun intended)

Who here has used persimmon, and do you like it more than metal or not?
-
Sometimes I go Teeeeeemm-po. But not always because sometimes it causes me to over swing on the downswing.
-
I'd choose 'make every putt', then tee off with the putter
-
Hey can anyone one help me with shot shaping? I can't really do it...
-
That sounds like too much, just hit the ball

This might sound a little stupid, but don't think about the correct swing; try to keep the clubface square at impact, and a smooth tempo.
