  1. I remember watching Ledbetter on Golf Channel when Sergio first came out. He said he didn't like the "slashing" type swing --led to inconsistency. I think the "big muscle" swingers will always be more consistent.
  2. People talk about lag to create power. They are talking about the lag in your hand release. To me, real power comes from lagging your shoulders to your hips. Try to build your swing over tension in your right knee/quad and fire off of it. Clear your left hip like Jim Furyk or Johnny Miller. Fire before you reach the top of your backswing. Loosen up your back good-- preferably on the ground.
  3. http://cgi.cnnsi.com/golfonline/inst...condprize.html Initiate your swing from the ground up. To me, your legs are responding to your shoulders and not driving them. Brook
  4. another one
  5. Watch this video of Hogan. Note - he is in great shape... but his body is not "tapered" like Tiger's. He is thick in the middle... from the knees to the sternum. The "trunk" golfers Nicklaus, Faldo, Choi, Couples, Els, Tiger & Norman (when they don't get wristy),Hogan, Sammy, and lord Byron IMO are more consistent year to year than the "slashy golfers" Sergio, Trevino, Palmer, Howell, Mickelson
  6. That poor little hillshot golf guy deserves to win though.... he has walked 10 miles just scooting around that thing and that's just the TV time I have seen.
  7. Look at KJ Choi. Powerlifter. Watch his hip turn in slow motion. It looks like he is swinging slow, but his leg drive is outstanding. Squats and Deads are where its at.
  8. Did anyone notice the yardages at Westchester??? I thought, as opposed to some recent tourneys, the players hit the ball more reasonable distances, 165 was a 6 iron for KJ, 210 was a 4 iron, and a lot of 250- 270 yard drives for the field. Or was I just imagining things?? If so, was it the moisture, slope of the course, etc. thanks Brook
