Can someone please post a review of these two irons? I am looking to purchase one of these sets and need feedback from an owner of the clubs. I heard theyare not that different though I prefer the matte finish of the 712's. I can get them for under $800 right now brand new.

Geaux Tigers!!! My LSU Tigers have one hell of a tough game this Saturday against a very tough Alabama team. This game is built up to be an epic showdown! I personally think the winning team will win by 7 - 10 points (guess which team i am picking, lol).

Thanks for all of your reply's. I truly appreciate the help!!!

Does anyone have / know of a Microsoft Excel template which calculates your handicap? I go to golf.com and must enter ALL of my rounds after every round I play to determine my handicap. I wanted a free template which calculates it for me so I can save the information and edit it after each round. Any help is greatly appreciated!

... sorry, Titleist 910 D2, NOT D3. D3 is more difficult to hit/control
-
I love my R11, however it does have a higher launch. I would strongly recommend the Titleist 910 D3...best looking plus amazing performance!

I would STRONGLY recommend "repairfixit" and "rollerball5301" on eBay. Both are extremely well priced, fast shipping, and legit clubs (mostly TaylorMade products). I purchased 3 clubs between the two within the last 10 days and absolutely love these guys!!!

I have played a round since purchasing the Taylormade Rescue 11 and....WOW! I hit this club straigher and more consistent than any other club in my bag. I was shocked at how easy it is to hit it. Great club!!!

I agree with using a GPS/Skycaddie or an iPhone app. Golfshot is a great app!

"case31" - that is a very good point. I often find myself thinking I have to chip it close to the hole for a 1 put...especially while I'm chipping. I will take your advice and I'm sure it will help lower my handicap. Thanks for the info!

iPhone 4S? iPhone 5? Pre-Announcement Discussion
lsu70510 replied to MiniBlueDragon's topic in The Grill Room
I have had an iPhone since the original. I have owned the 2G, 3G, & 4G. I am a huge fan & supporter of Apple. Having said that, IMO Apple will suffer in sales if they do not have a MAJOR change (physically & internally) to their next iPhone. People are starting to see it as "same old-same old". Other competitors are manufacturing phones which are on par with the iPhone. I for one hope they re-revolutionize the mobile market again! -
Thanks for the info! I look forward to trying mine out. It should come in this week....I think Friday will be a good day for golf

I just ordered a Taylormade Rescue 11 (stiff) to replace my broken long iron. I hear a lot of tour players use this instead of a 3 iron now and was wondering if anyone uses a rescue club and if so, what is your opinion on it? I couldn't pass up the deal which is why I purchased it before hitting it.

Golf swing analysis for smartphones
lsu70510 replied to The_Pharaoh's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I would recommend waiting for the iPhone 5 (a few weeks) and purchase the Tiger Woods My Swing app. I love this app! It has helped my swing A LOT. I use it with the iPhone 4 and I do wish the FPS were a bit higher. -
Not sure if this will help but it will occupy time while waiting. I use the iPhone app "Golfshot". If I must wait before teeing off, I check out the entire whole (where bunkers are, layup yardage, size of the green, etc.). It will keep your mind off of your next swing but keep it on golf. Plus if you play one course a few times, it will teach you more about how to play the course.

I have been playing Nike Slingshot irons and really like them. They are extremely forgiving. Their price has dropped over the years and now a new set is around $300-$400. I would not recommend Titleist until your handicap is around 10 or so ( just my opinion).

Opinion on Titleist 710 cb irons
lsu70510 replied to lsu70510's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Thanks for the feedback. It will definitely help me in my decision on purchasing new irons. -
If you are ready to invest that much money, I would also recommend trying the Titleist 910 D2 driver. That is also a highly rated & commonly played driver. I hope the info helps some :-)

I am interested in purchasing the Titleist 710 cb irons (or 712 cb irons when they are released) and would like someone's opinion on these clubs. Anyone who has ever tried these clubs, please post your thoughts. Thanks!

I have had my R11 driver 9 degree (60 gram Blur stiff flex) for 2-3 months and I love it! I had a bad habit of push-slicing the ball only off of the tee. I tested this club at a local pro shop and did the same thing. The salesman explained how the settings work and set it to what he thinks I need (it's set to 10 degree launch angle, closed face, high with the shaft) and I cannot stress how much this has improved my game. This driver makes your ball roll for days! In my opinion, you would be very pleased with this club. P.S. before having this driver, my handicap was around 12. Now it's around 8...mostly because of how many fairways I can hit
