  2. Thanks Zeph, I checked out the mat and those look like the best I have ever seen. The nets I found on the web did not get good reviews. I may shelf this idea for a while but it is something i am interested in.
  3. I am thinking about buying a net to hit into so that it will be more convenient and cheaper to hit balls. I would like others to share there setups and to share what they think works well. Please stick to this topic as there is already a currently featured thread that discusses a net as it relates to instruction. I am interested in hitting surfaces used (mat, grass, etc), and how they accommodate a tee. I am not interested in tearing up the backyard grass but my net will definitely go outdoors. I am wondering how a mat would holdup, does it accommodate an actual tee, does the mat move? Does it need to be stabilized? Please share your experiences and recommendations as I have not shopped around yet. I am not looking for anything fancy. Thanks
  4. This is exactly how I putt except that after I setup to the curved line that I see, I forget about the line and think only about distance.
  5. I am addicted to the used club rack at Golfsmith, PGA SS and others. I just love finding a good deal especially on a driver. I feel that there is not much technology change in drivers over the past few years...even a Ping G2 or G5 can be had for $50 and is a terrific driver. When I am looking for a particular older model that I like, I enjoy hunting the racks hoping to find one in good condition for a bargin. I did by my irons new as I will not be turning those over for many years. I bought a TM Rossa Monza Corsa and Callaway GBB2 415 used.
  6. If you are thinking about a certain instructor, watch him teach one of his lessons. See if his personality is what you like. I like someone who will listen to me and have it be a two way street. Sometimes it seems the instructor will make a quick decision about what is wrong without much (or ignoring) of your input. Also how does the instructor communicate? I think the very good instructors not only know what is wrong but also know how to communicate it effectively to you. i.e. does he just keep telling you the same thing in the same way? Or does he find different ways to get it across to you? Good Luck.
  7. thanks for the confirmation, I really need to work on that and will also try the ball drill.
  8. Hi, At the top of my backswing, I do not feel like I have proper leverage. That is, I do not feel like I have much to push off of for the downswing. Sometimes I work on making sure that I have pressure on the inner right foot so that my weight does not shift too far back and it helps some. Is keeping the pressure on the inner right foot (as opposed to my weight shifting backward past the inner right foot) extremely important? I struggle with distance, hit it high and feel like I have a weak hip turn. Thoguhts? Drills to recommend? thanks
  9. I got one back in June off of eBay brand new (red box) for $150. I love it...it is small, light and easy to use. Basic mode with hazard view and a rendered green view are mostly good enough. If you want to get aerial views and some other nice features (more like the Sky Caddie and Garmin may have) then it is a one time $60 fee. You get 1 free Pro Mode course though to see if you like it. It only holds 50 courses at a time but you can change them when you want. The touchscreen MX version is due to be re-launched next Spring probably for $199 but be wary of it.
