  1. Spirit of the game. Play from where ever you want but I would never claim a record from the Seniors or Ladies tee as I am not one. I play from the frontmost tee btw, but I am a rank beginner.
  2. Another thing is most of the inventions are quite pricey - Hillshot Golf is ~$800! The Club Caddy I expect to be ~$10 or so. A lot easier to sell a zillion $10 items, especially around Christmas time. I agree, it would be cool if they had a few catagories next time around.
  3. I just got a Heavenwood 3h today and took it to the range, really dig it so far (I'm VERY new) but I wanted to try some chipping with it and I just couldn't do it at all. I felt like the shaft was just waaay too long, like I'd need to choke down past the grip which felt unpleasant. Any tips or do I just not have a chip-friendly hybrid?
  4. Just picked up a Heavenwood 3h today and was actually able to hit straight shots on a semi-regular basis if I swang easy - only 150yds but I have no distance yet (JUST started) so I felt good about it. I even got one out to 200yds dead straight so I know if I can get a good swing going it should be a solid distance club for me. I tried chipping with it and just hit short worm burners - the shaft just seems way too long for it to feel right. Am I missing something or do I just not have a good hybrid for that purpose?
  5. Great series until that last, lame episode. Sheesh, just stick with the regular format! I went golfing for the first time and by the second hole I wish I had one of those giant clothespins. I found two lefty irons by two different greens too...
  6. Very cool work - a little busy so I wonder how it would be to actually use. I bet you could do good business custom painting clubs.
  7. In 100 degree indexed weather there is no way I could walk a course, as-is I drank ~60oz of water. Getting in the cart's shade and a little speed generated wind was VERY nice indeed. Plus I think considering my lack of skill it was a big help in maintaining our 4:!5 round.
  8. Thanks a lot guys - I guess next time I can walk even less :) I'l be sure and double-check with the starting marshall too.
  9. I played for my first time this week - what a blast! There was one thing I was unsure of though, is it ok to drive the cart out into the short rough off the path? The course we were playing at the cart path would sometimes be quite far from where our balls were so after about the 12th hole I said let's just drive the cart up next to the fairway instead of leaving it just off the path (in the shade). I kept it off the fairway since I didn't want to hurt the grass. I noticed on a few holes there was string blocking the end of the fairway to green so I'm thinking that it is fine but I don't want to be a jerk.
  10. I played my first round and my twosome only took ~4:15 w/o a stop for food. I thought we played klnda slow since I am an absolute beginner and my friend isn't too much better but I guess not. I insisted on playing from the yellow tees and sometimes just picked the ball up and brought it closer if it went OOB or into the water more than once or twice.
  11. Played my first full round ever this week, it was really fun but I definitely need some serious assistance with the full swing. I just started last month so my goals are pretty simple - learn how to hit the dang ball! So far I can pitch OK since I think it is the easiest stroke but pretty much everything else I need to learn :)
  12. I wore regular sandals the other day... not a really good idea if you ever see the inside of a bunker.
