  1. I like it if I can get on an open course. Many times I'll get paired up with others. One guy I got paired up with helped me and didn't know it. His swing was so smooth and he hit so well, that it helped me to watch him and slow my swing down and hit better. Also, I tend to score better because my focus is much better when I play alone.
  2. Just stumbled across this place last week, and decided to register. I'm in the I.E. and South O.C. depending on the day. Play (golf) mostly in the I.E.
  3. I much prefer to drive. I play once a year with a guy who makes quick, cutting, last minute turns, and if I'm not holding on, I'm out! Drives me nuts! If I'm driving, I usually look for their ball first, and if mine's closer, I'll have them take the cart.
  4. I like that "commit to each shot" - mentally Finish the follow through on every swing Get more confident/consistent with the long irons Get handicap down to at least 15 (trending to 18 now, but need to be more consistently in the 80's) Get out and play on a more consistent basis going forward Finish more pars
  5. Where do I sign? This should be required to be posted in every pro shop or starter's spot. As well as an explanation of what to do when you are holding people up - let them play through. We mostly play "ready golf". Keeps things moving better.
  6. Very cool. I hit a few on a launch monitor today (was just getting a quick demo of it). Doesn't sound like the same tech as yours, but it was still very enlightening. Can't wait to get more time on it.
  7. Hit it today and posted in that thread. 82 for 18 holes. At Upland Hills Country Club in Upland, CA - Blue tees, 68.6/121, 5902 yds. Course is narrow (lined by mature tress), but not too difficult. Hitting straight is a good thing here. Had 2 putts lip out, 3 putted 2x, and hit water once, or could have been in the 70's! Birdied 18th. First time I've had everything working reasonably well for an entire 18. No blow-ups. Handicap is dropping fast.
  8. Shot my best 18 so far - 82. Upland Hills Country Club, in Upland, CA. Blue tees, 68.8/121, 5902 yds. It's kinda narrow but not too difficult. Everything was working well. Birdied #18. Had 2 putts lip out, 3 putted twice, and hit the water once. Otherwise, could have been in the 70's! My handicap is dropping fast. Now trending to 18+
