Opinions on Tour Edge Irons/Hybrid/Driver?
cemeb4dk replied to Bowker's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I had the Bazookas, as my first set of real clubs. They are great clubs, they get the ball up and are a greats et of entry level clubs. The only downside to them is that they are a bit heavy, but it didn't really affect me as they where my first clubs. My buddies complained about the weight when they swung them but they swing forged mizunos so they are in a different league. I had mine for almost a year, and still looked in great shape. They are great for beginning golfers because they do get the ball up and out, so its good for the confidence. They are not very good for working the ball, but if you are starting out and want a great quality entry level set the Bazookas are great. When I had my set I got 5-PW in irons and a 4 hybrid. and I have since sold my irons but still use the hybrid. I still could be playing them, but the lack ofworkability and me just wanting a newer set of irons was thereal reason I upgraded. -
I was just searching around and saw that Bridgestone came out with a plus (+) version of the e5 and e6 balls. Does anyone know what the difference is formt he older e series. I tried to search the bridgestone web site but it sounds like the same description as the older balls. Has anyone tried them?

I need to replace my 3 wood this year, and since santa is shortly approaching its the perfect time to ask for a new one. My question and it may sound dumb, but if they are both 15* what would be the difference of the 2. I am assuming head design. I spend more time in the lighter rough then I do in the fairway so I am thinking the hybrid is the way to go. Any suggestions or info that can be shared would be greatly appreciated. If it matters I am looking into the pIng G10 series of either the hybrid or 3 wood.

indoor driving ranges in chicago area
cemeb4dk replied to doublesuited77's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
In Desplaines they have an outdoor range but all the stalls are heated, so at least you can see your whole ball flight, and stay warm also -
My buddy and I are planning a golf trip down to the Orlando area in early February. His folks have a home in Haines City I believe its near winter haven. So we have been thinking of some courses and looing for some honest review and thoughts about the courses. Orange County National (Panther Lake) Celebration diamond back mystic dunes Champions gate

I just got a new set of I5's in Sept. Green Dot which was suppose to be 2* up. WOndering when the changes actually took affect? I will have to double check my build sheet, not that I would notice .25* but I want to make sure I have accurate info if I ever to go and re sell.

I just recently upgraded to the I5's. I demoed the G10 and i10's. The g10's are too super game improving for me, and the I10's seemed much like a blade and a little to small of a head for my liking. So my fitter gave me an I5 to try and it was perfect. A great improvement over my previous clubs. The best way to describe the I5 is its right between the 10 series. Plus there isnt the wait for them like there is for the new 10 series, I got mine in early Sept and got them in like 5 business days. The I 5's will beinmy bag for a long time. I hope this helps

Top game improvement irons?
cemeb4dk replied to useless149149's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have to put another vote in for the Ping I5's. I tried the 10 series both G and I, and didn't care for either. So my fitter had me try an I5, and I almost knew instantly. The G10 was too super game improvement I thoight, and the I 10 was too small and almost felt blade like for me. The I5's are right inbetween the 2. -
Just traded in my cleveland Hibore XL, for a ping G10 with the v2 shaft. Thank goodness for golfsmith's 90/90 policy. They gave me more than what they are selling new for, They seem to have dropped $50 or so in price from 2 months ago.

No just the red.

My swing speed is 98mph. I am thinking of changing out the Clevelands stock shaft for an aldila vs proto, 60g stiff.

Thanks for the reply, I am not sure on their lengths, but I will check tomorrow, I believe they are the same but not 100%. As far as your swing weight comment ( excuse my ignorance, still in the technicall learning area of golf.) By saying the Cleveland is D5 it is heavier correct? So by the Nike being lighter I am correcting the swing plane in the downswing? So I am better swinging the lighter club. I feel like I am swinging them the same, but then again it is probably so little of a diff, I can't feel it. Someone else suggested that maybe the stock red cleveland shaft may not be as stiff as the NVS? Would the NV shaft or another shaft help my nike get some more distance? Does the higher trajectory NVS take away distance due to the fact that it is a higher launch shaft? Thanks again for the help.

hello all, I currently have 2 drivers, the first one is last years nike sasquatch 10.5 with a NVS 65g stiff shaft. The second is a Hibore xl 10.5 with the stock red shaft in stiff. I had the nike since last year, and could never swing it well, but I have had had a summers long worth of lessons, so my swing is a 1000 times better, far from perfect but much better. Currently I am hitting the Nike dead straight and carrying 230-240. My cleveland goes about 20 yards farther but has a hook on every swing. I cannot get the Cleveland to go straight. So Right now I am prefering the Nike in my bag, because I'll take striaght and shorter over longer and left any day. But my question is my NVS shaft holding back the distance out of my NIke. I know the NVS is a high launch shaft, but with my swing it doesn't launch all that higher than the cleveland I actually think it has a nice ball flight without a major angle of descent. I am thinking of these high MOI heads can't be to different from each other, it has to be the shaft. So do I reshaft the Nike and with what or do I reshaft the Cleveland? Thanks for the advice, sorry if it seems long winded.

Just got a set of Ping I5's. Was looking to upgrade from my tour edge bazookas, and the 10 series didn't seem to fit what I was looking for, the I 5 is a perfect mix between the 2 10 series.
