  1. i've only been practicing 4 years (5 time a week year round) and playing rounds for 3 years (averaging once a month)....i'm seeing that my swing is more set now...for first 2 or 3 years..i've noticed that i kept making small adjustments to my swing.....so..i avoided getting fitted again and hearing about how they can adjust this and that.....so....now i think about it...i guess it's time to get fully refitted again....
  2. question about reshafting...and knowing what shaft works for you...i know the costly thing to do would be to reshaft and test out various shafts....but....i wanted to know the science behind steel shafts... i have a extremely slow loose swing speed....taking the club up...and letting gravity bring the clubhead down..only adding full force the split second before the moment of impact...this has worked well for me...launching the ball and no feeling of shock from impact....and seems to launch the ball further than if i were to speed up my swing.... regarding shafts...i've tried graphite shafts and they seem to work fine for me....and actually do like the feel.....but i would like to stay with steel (to avoid any stigma from others)....if i were to go reshaft to true temper gs-75 at a mere 86 grams....would this be my solution?...or is this too much of a dramatic change?... your thoughts?
  3. r7 irons and drivers are fairly easy to hit....the irons are bit more weighted compared to my mizuno mx-23 irons...but...found it easy to hit with...just let the weight of the head come down naturally..and you'll see nice long shots....
  4. only time i ever had blisters was when i was first learning golf....first half of a year....most of the problem was in my club control...taking the club back too fast...and forcing the club on the down swing... once i was able to control to a slow accelerating back swing...and to a "natural" stop as the body coils back....to a accelerating uncoil of the body with max power at impact with ball.... instructor told me....your swing is key...the hands should only be the connecting attachment between your arm and club....you get blisters when your hands try to control the path or force of the swing...(also..i notice people who have more of a "baseball bat grip" tend to have callus or get blisters) not sure if this make any sense..but it did for me..and i no longer get blisters...and hands are baby soft....
  5. bought two clubs on ebay... a mizuno gap wedge (paid $30 used on ebay)...after comparing to my identical model sand and lob wedge that i paid $120 each at a proshop...it was identical..i took it to a shop to get it reshafted and regripped, and confirmed that the wedge was authentic.... and a mizuno hybrid (paid $80)...i compared it to my identical model mizuno hybrid i paid over $150 at a proshop...again it was identical....i took it to a shop to get it regripped and checked and it was also authentic.... so far..i've lucked out and got authentic clubs on ebay....
  6. never heard of it...but...the 60 degree lob wedge is my favorite wedge to get on the green from the sand close to the hole...or when i need the ball high and to land and stop....
  7. i have a friend that is 6' and he does the same thing...i know i'm suppose to keep quiet..but damn..it just looks too funny....
  8. carry a 3 iron..but..only comes out on 200 yard +/- par 3 holes for me to hit off the tee...
  9. 60 yards or so for me....
  10. told me that he received a "group buy" deal on it....custom leather stitched putter grip felt so nice....the grip alone was $50....the craftmanship of the putter was superb...and that "sound" slit adds just the perfect tone to very putt....truely impressed by these custom putters....
  11. 30...perfect golfing age....
  12. anybody ever use a byron morgan putter?....a coworker just received his $330 putter and i had a chance to try it out...the feeling was "wow"....not like any putter i have ever tried or used...and i have tried practically all during my recent putting buying decision making...any opinions?... www.byronputters.com ....am i crazy to even consider buying one for myself when i've already paid $250 for the mizuno bettinardi black carbon putter and still awaiting shipment?...do i need counseling?...
  13. went from a mizuno mx-15 (cast) set to a mizuno mx-23 (forged)...both almost identical in shape, size and design...but there was definitely a difference in the "feel" and sound... mx-19 is the newer version vs. mx-25 which is also the newer versions of the above mentioned....... vs. if you go test both out..you'll notice the differences...
  14. don't mind some chit chat....."oh..when did you get at r7 superquad?..may i try?".....having a few beers....small wagers amongst friends..."closest to the blue flag....$2".......it's just practice.... i don't know why...but i tend to follow bowling etiquette..you know..you wait until the lanes next to you have bowled before you bowl....i don't know why..but i tend to do the same at the range with a driver...
  15. that is actually a good tip...i'll try that next time....
