  3. hey thanks for the heads up, oh quick question how do the worst irons titleist ever made work for ya?
  4. was told in another thread to pick up a tour striker and "get to work" so... im looking to buy a tour striker haha anyone have one? know i probably could have placed this in the marketplace but the site wont let me yet...
  5. i miss the days of Mike Weir too...
  6. yea not digging on the hats at all... another comment on this tourney.. why does Adam Scott wear tight pants!? for some reason i just dont like the guy anymore... i grew up in the "young gun" days and he was part of that. i loved watching him play growing up, i think after the whole caddy thing i became disgusted by it all... just looks kind of gay haha love the swing though. i dont know maube i just find him annoying and im not sure why?
  7. yea... contact is KEY! you know of any good drills or practice tips on getting to that point of contact?
  8. love watching a shot spin back into the hole
  9. yea will have to agree with you on this.. went out today, hit the ball terrible stroking an 80 but did pull off this shot one of the 3 times i tried it. out of the rough too haha non of the courses around here are in good shape so its all rough out there but choking down does help along with hands forward. thanks for the tip
  10. yea not a long hitter but guess thats what you get for being a great wedge player and not really ever getting in trouble huh... think we would all love to hit the ball like that!?
  11. well hey enjoy the tournament man, when you get back let us know what the best shot is that you saw? one that maybe we couldnt see on tv or something?
  12. haha yea i know man... looks like a knock down 8 iron coming into the green!? like i said used to do it with my 60 degree but your right was almost like you hit it thin.. thats how perfect you have to hit it.. didnt know if maybe anyone has a drill for it? or just some tips?
  13. hey thats a win for both of you. you made 5 bucks and if that kid learns how to hit that 1 iron he will become a good golfer haha! love the username too man, Vardon was a pioneer
  14. DAMN!? your a lucky man... have fun at the tourney sounds like you are following some good groups. so nice to see Freddy back on the PGA tour
  15. A hat rack!? haha love it
  16. haha that is kind of funny about the golf digest story. didnt know that! i guess for me its that i like the ability to hit multiple types of shots with my 2 iron. i tend to hit the ball pretty high as it is probably because i release a bit soon haha but thats a different topic for a different thread.. may have to think about this hybrid thing... maybe try a friends and play a round with one and see how it feels. thanks for the info on distances too
  17. hey cant deny that the guys gets the job done with that swing, just looks weird but hey wouldn't care what it looked like if i could play as well as him. got to give Gainey the love!
  18. hey guys, quick question... i think of myself as a decent golfer, though i feel i lack a few shots in my game... one of which being the low spinning wedge shot.... the shot im referring to is the shot anywhere from 40-75 yards. i want that low accurate skip and stop shot, maybe even spin back a bit? i kind of had this shot last year but wasn't 100% happy with it so im looking for info.. when i played it last year i felt the only way i was able to do it was to come across the ball? it worked but had right spin and would slightly fade... i know this shot is all about how you make contact and having to be very crisp. i have practices this a few times this year now and i cant catch it right anymore... ball squirts right up the club face and comes in very high... if you guys have any pointers that would be great. would love to add this shot to my game this year. i saw Dustin Johnson hit this shot last year at the Barclay's from like 50 yards and he spun it back a few feet. really would like that shot.. thanks you any help you guys
  19. i ground my putter as well but now that you guys mention it ill have to try on the practice green with hovering!? grounding it like alot of others said just helps with alignment really. never had ball problems with ball movement after address so... never thought there would be a need to change? will let you know what i think when i try it
  20. with all the technology that has been introduced to golf in the last few years i feel i am behind... the only woods i have are my driver and 3 wood. and my trusty 2 iron that i LOVE. often get questioned as to why i still use it and have it in my bag. everyone says i should carry a hybrid now...? but my 2 iron is my safe club that i can trust off the tee and getting out of trouble when i block a drive into the woods... now for me golf is all about feel and its what i feel most comfortable with so not looking for support on the topic more or less asking if any of you still use the 2 iron? and if you have switched away from it why you switched and what the difference is? ive hit hybrids before and like them but never took one out on the course to see how it preforms under pressure haha interested to see what you guys say on this subject?
  21. HAHAHAHA!!! YES THANKYOU! i knew someone was going to say Tommy Gainey was just waiting for it!
  22. Look at the username!? TITLEIST 695mb so smooth but arent all Titleist clubs?
  23. of course not, love Freds swing wonderful tempo. good call
  24. I am just curious who you guys fell has the best swing in golf? PROS!? dont want to get a bunch of replies saying you guys have the best swings! haha in terms of pros, could be PGA, EUROPEAN, or LPGA. Ill start off by saying.... Luke Donald. not a power hitter by any means but what balance and grace.. every time he swings its hard to pick out any faults. swing just looks SO effortless... something we could probably all learn from. well your turn lets here who you guys like and why. dont want this to become a negative thread with people saying you suck for who you picked and why they are always right... ive found there are some members on here that just like to argue and rebuttal so lets not make this one of them. look forward to hearing your answers see ya
  25. personally i think the come from behind wins are going to come to an end this week. but probably return very soon to the tour. call me crazy but i have Bubba winning this week! haha like you said first he finds ways to make birdies. if he can do that i feel he will win. but if he gets too aggressive then look out... lots of bogeys out there to be made at Riviera
