  1. When did you play on the Detroit tour? I have been on the tour for 2 years now and love it. I went down to Nationals this past October and it was a blast. Looking forward to year already.
  2. Has anyone used one of these? http://www.birdieball.com/scripts/pr...?idproduct=270 I am looking for a nice, but not too expensive, putting green to put in my basement. I couldn't find many reviews on this product, so was hoping someone actually has one or putted on one?
  3. I read Rotella's "Golf is not a game of Perfect" this past week and was able to use some of his suggestions on the course on Tuesday. I have always been a pretty positive player, but Rotella definetly gives more insight on things. For example, I never really picked out a specific targert and didn't have a sound routine. I am working on that now. Also his insight on trying to hole out chips and pitches has helped me so far. Not saying it will always work, but I used his tips on a 50 yard pitch shot and almost holed it out. It was the third hole of my round and the ball hit the bottom of the flagstick. I just sat there and laughed for a minute. I am definetly going to buy his other books and add them to my collection.
  4. I believe it is $175 to play during the summer. There was a labor day special and we played it for $110. I also played it in the fall, where they drop their rates to $75. I would suggest playing it on a labor day special type of rate because it was somewhat different. In October, it gets pretty chilly and this past weekend was sunny and 75 degrees. Also the greens are much faster during the summer. I had 42 putts and I ended up shooting an 85. Most putts I had in a while, I usually have around 31-35 putts a round.
  5. The course is Arcadia Bluffs in Arcadia, Michigan. The course is unreal!! It is ranked top 10 public courses in the US. Ended up shooting an 85 with 42 freaking putts!! The greens are huge and really fast.
  6. Sorry guys, the link didn't work. I will figure it out and post it.
  7. Please critique my swing and let me know if you see something I could work on. I tend to fade the ball a little, but sometimes over swing and pull it or hook it. Sometimes I can get a nice draw. This ball in the video went pretty straight with a little push, but very little push. Thanks!
  8. I play on this tour in Michigan. It was $90 to get your tour card and the tournaments cost between $75-$100, depending on the course. The courses are some of the best in the area, so well worth it. There is a Championship flight, A flight, B flight, C flight, and D flight. Based on your handicap is what flight you get into. Each flight winner gets a trophy and about $150 gift card, depending on how many people join the tournament. They also pay out in a gift card for the 2nd and 3rd place as well. You can also pay to get into greenies and skins if you want. I played last year and am playing again this year and I love it. Here is the site if you want to check it out. http://www.miagt.com/
  9. I just wanted to give a quick review on this book. I bought it a week ago and took my time and got through the first two chaptors (grip and posture). The grip part I was basically doing, just a little modification. The posture however I changed a few things that I wasn't doing. I went to the range today and practiced and let me tell you, I was hitting the ball with great contact, probably the best I have in a while. I consider myself a pretty good ball striker already, but I believe just reading the second chaptor has already improved my ball striking. Maybe it was just a good day, but I am a believer in this book already and looking forward to the next chaptors.
  10. I'm actually going to get fitted this Saturday. Should I have some clubs I want in mind or do I just hit and he will let me know what manufacture best fits my swing? I do want the mizuno's based on what I have heard about them. I demoed them and like them, but didn't try many others out. The club fitter is fitting me for irons and a driver, so it will take 2 hours approx. What should I be expecting?
  11. I was just actually down in fort myers during Christmas and played a few courses. The best one I played was The Plantation. The greens were in great condition and the fairways as well. They have a different kind of grass there, can't think of it right now. But the best value I must say was a newer course called River Hall. If you find a golf guide, which are usually at the course, there is a coupon in there. I ended up playing this course for $25 with cart. The course was in great condition!! I live in Michigan and that course here would be a $60-$70 course. Check it out, I am sure you will like it.
  12. We also do a golf weekend every year here in Michigan. We usually go over to Battle Creek and stay at Yarrow. The rooms you stay in are right over the first hole, which is pretty sweet. I would recommend playing Yarrow for sure. The best course I have played though has to be Arcadia Bluffs. This coures was absolutley amazing!!! Another course I didn't see mentioned was The Grande. This course is in Jackson and is in my opinion one of the best in Lower Michigan.
  13. I am heading to Fort Myers in a couple of weeks and plan on playing a few courses. Does anyone know of some great courses to play that won't cost a fortune?
  14. I live in Roseville. There are simulators at the Michigan State Fair called Next Shot Golf Center. Me and a few buddies are going there tomorrow to play a round. I guess I can ask the operator there tomorrow.
  15. Does anybody know the accuracy of the golf simulators? There is a place by my house that lets you go and hit balls and actually play PGA courses. I am more intersted in going up there every so often and using the simulator range. It tells you the distance of every shot. I figured this would be good to get a distance for my clubs. Would this be pretty accurate?
