  1. I see this stuff all the time with my son. It is so frustrating but not a lot you can do.

  3. We went to the final qualifier on Saturday and had a great time at River Bend Country Club. Unfortunately Collin didn't have a great day and placed 6th. A long putt for a score of 1 and a drive out of bounds for a 0 sealed it. The winner was in his pairing and scored a 136. They drove 6 hours from South Carolina to Virginia. Congratulations to them! We will be back next year!
  4. I am so proud of him!!! Top two move on to the Mid Atlantic regional and he did it! He placed first in chipping and second overall. Only missed first place by 7 points... his first drive was hooked out of bounds for a zero or it would have been a 10 point drive. http://app.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/appe_mapgabheintz13/event/appe_mapgabheintz1313m/contest/29/leaderboard.htm
  5. I was going to jump straight to the "I'm turning pro in a year" thread for him! LOL
  6. I am up for a fall get together, keep me posted.
  7. Hi guys, So I entered my 10 year old son in the 2015 Drive Chip & Putt contest and he WON his first qualifying round! I'm so proud of him! He tied for 3rd in driving and chipping, then placed 2nd in putting. I was blown away when they totaled to overall scores and he placed first! He is on the the leader board for boys 10-11 on the web site http://app.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/appe_mapgabheintz13/event/appe_mapgabheintz134m/index.htm His next qualifier is Aug 7. Good luck to all the other little guys and girls!
  8. Any more updates on this... It seems like a nice setup.
  9. I was smiling on the inside! Did I mention how civilized the game was, not a single F bomb all day, quite a feat considering the scoring.
  10. I had a great time and set a new personal record... penalties on 9 of 18 holes! The aerated greens didn't seem to hurt the putting to much (35 putts) but it really screwed up my drives. Erik, we discussed 5sk and concluded we need at least 6. .
  11. Stroke play is fine with me. I have only played once this season so who knows what I will do! LOL
  12. Sorry I have been a little out of touch lately. If you still have room I can play Sunday.
  13. I am in Howard County.
  14. Thanks for the invite to the group. I would be up for if I can get away.
  15. LOL not mean! Your name didn't come out so well in that test anyway!
  16. Hi Everyone, A customer asked about a repair tool that would use the same logo I had done for him on one of the 1.25" ball markers. I decided to mess around in the drawing program and it dawned on me that if I made the upper end of the repair tool the same diameter as the ball markers it would fit into my ball mark fixture plate. As a result I came up with two simple repair tools with enough space for logo's or other engravings. One style is just the repair tool and the other style is both a repair tool and ball mark, I engraved an arrow of on the back side of mine and added some paint fill. I need to adjust the depth of the letters, they engraved a bit to deep. I am going to add them to the web site over the week.
  17. Thanks Dave
  18. Did it! The highlight was the ninth hole par 5. OB is down the left side and I topped my 5w wood off the tee and OB. Gathered my thoughts and teed up a second ball...perfect shot over the edge of the tree's (a dog leg left) into the middle of the fairway. With 215 left to the pin I hit 5 wood again to 6 feet from the pin... One put for par!
  19. I kept it light and fun with my son starting at about 3 or 4. The first thing I did was get one of the kids 9 irons with the grip that is molded to teach them how to hold the club. A flag set from the golf store and pitching/chipping in the front yard to keep it fun. Some foam balls for indoors and a heat vent putting hole to putt into . Within a few months he was chipping foam balls over my head off the carpet and into the hole... it was funny to watch the balls check up as they landed with back spin. LOL I would also record "playing lessons with the pros" and he loved to watch that... The ones with a pro and 2 armatures playing a few holes. The new format with one pro and one interviewer playing a few holes is quite boring. He has loved the game from the start, now 9 years old he is driving the ball 150 and has a great time playing. We did the first Tee a couple of times and he enjoyed it the first year, second year not so much. The on course time very limited compared to the classroom time and they gave homework! He already knew how to conduct himself in and around the course, was brought up to respect the game, course, and others. We ended up putting him in golf camp this summer and he loved it but it was not cheap.
  20. Unfortunately I have only played once since then. On Sunday I step out of the car walk up to the tee... Driver, 7 iron, 10 foot putt. Easy birdie. I then doubled the next 3 holes. I was getting frustrated and told my son I need to stop and just enjoy the day with him. Shot an 88. with 6 pars and the one birdie, 4 of those pars were missed birdie putts. I can't expect to play once or twice a month and be consistent.
  21. I think you are right, it looks like Billy Horchel. The B and Y look a lot like this image. VS
  22. Hi all, My nine year old son and I attended the day 3 of the AT&T; National and one of the marshals gave my son an autographed ball he found. Looks Like Bill Haas ??? Can you help identify the players signature? On another note Sean O-Hair's caddy handed him a ball, not signed, but he was excited!
  23. Welcome, I am from Maryland as well... Rattlewood is on Golfnow.com and they have some good deals some times.
  24. Thanks guys, Your right about the GIR. This course is kinda tight and if you are out of the fairway something is usually in your way. It is also a public course with lots of dirt, roots, chunky grass in the trouble area's. #7 has water down the left and for some unknown reason I tried to draw an iron into the green. I over drew it and went into the water... I rarely go into the water on that hole and have actually made my first eagle there. #10 water left, water short, OB right. I usually just hit a 6 iron but for some reason pulled a wood, Straight left into the water. The rest of the holes... bad tee shot or bad second iron shot, like you all said, make those GIR's !! The program is golf shot but I keep score on a score card, then enter it into GS later. I use a laser for ranges. Thanks again for the tips.
  25. I get so close some days but just cant pull it off. I needed to par the last hole and hit a perfect 5 wood off the tee to the center of the fairway and one 160 out. Hit my iron fat and it went about 110 yards!!! Make a nice pitch to about 15 feet from the hole but the cup is in a tough spot. Miss the putt, miss coming back for a 3 putt! Sigh.... I had a lot of other places to make up those 2 shots earlier. Penalty on 7 and 10 !!!!
