  1. Been there many times and just got back two weeks ago. Plantation and Kaanapali North (South is a joke) are not to be missed but my favorites remain the Emerald for it's symmetry and lush beauty and fairness and the Gold for it's professional level challange. No tricks, no games just the highest overall level of quality golf experience in the most beautiful section of the most beautiful island.
  2. Use the 60 for almost everything inside 85 yards. Split greenside sand shots about 50/50 between the 56 & the 60.

  4. I play a Scotty Circle T 34" 350 gram red dot Newport 2 and luckily it seems I have finally found what is the right putter for me. I have two older pings and 7 other Scotties and one other Tour Scotty. I also have a wonderful 1937 wooden shafted blade putter from St Andrews and still have my trusty old high school Bullseys putter both which which I still practice with regularly.
  5. First, sounds like you had a good experience on the range. That is always fun. Also, the D2 is very good driver and easy to keep in the center so I don't know who gave you the impression you weren't ready for it. The FT-i is a high MOI driver and it isn't designed to be shorter or be a compromise driver at all. It is perhaps not as workable as the FT-5 or the D2 but it is just as long or close to it and it gives better distance on off center hits than those other drivers. All are great drivers including your TM Burner. Some pro's will only hit a new driver maybe 4 times before deciding whether to pursue it or forget it. The right combo can make a huge difference without any swing change. It sounds like you found a head and shaft combination that really works for you and that is a great event for anyone. It doesn't mean the FT-i is a better driver, just that you may have found a combo that optimizes your swing. Keep experimenting and enjoy. By the way, with those distance variables I would hazard that making consistent center contact with the driver is a bit of a problem for you right now. We all sometimes have that particular problem, especially when trying to hit the ball farther. On some drivers, a 1/2 inch miss can result in a 40 yard drop off. Again, the FT-i is specifically designed to minimize distance loss on off center hits. It may be a great club for your current swing.
  6. Just switched to CG-12's from Tour Issue RAC Blacks and am very pleased. Similar to Spin Mill Vokeys but less tendency to spin back too much and no shredding of the ProV1x.
  7. Good question. I always suggest that potential blade players pick-up a single blade iron on e-Bay or in a club barrel at a big shop and go hit it on the range for a few weeks. Most folks will lose 20-40 yards when first hitting something like an MP-33 6 iron. However, with a little patience you may find that swinging a blade smoothly will help to groove your swing even if you decide that blades just aren't for you at this time. Start with a 1/2 swing and have fun with it.
