@newtogolf yeah I agree. Hogan's have illustrations too which greatly helps in the visualizations of his lessons. Harvey's though doesn't but I find his tips very useful and his stories are very motivating for a beginner.

Yes most private courses here require you to be accompanied by a member to get a better rate. Some accept walk-ins but rate is of course higher. Highlands of course is a must :-)

Top of mind would be Calatagan in Batangas province, Eagle Ridge in Cavite province (Dye and Faldo courses), Southwoods also in Cavite and Sta Elena and Canlubang both in Laguna province. All are a few hours drive from Manila. In Manila, it's Wack-Wack (host of the Phil Open) and nearby is Valley Golf. I suggest you join our local golf forum, Pinoygolfer.com (also on Tapatalk). I know this is a longshot but anyone here got a pdf or epub version of this book? Reason I want a pdf or epub version is so that I can read it on my iPad while on the range and practice with it :-) I' m a beginner based in Manila and seriously want to improve my game and I've read from here that this book can help me out.
