  1. Having irons 5-sw in my set, I am now confortable with 5I... I use hybrids to replace 3 and 4. Should I look into Hyvrid to replace 5I or if I can hit with good consistency an iron it is always better than an Hybrid?
  2. Thanks for suggestions. I was keeping lessons and practice out of the picture as they are obviously nr 1 requirement. I bought a full Wilson Prostaff set. My question is: when will be wise for me to think about upgrading my equipment? Custom fittings, better irons, new putter, top class driver, etc. At what handicap level clubs' difference start being noticeable?
  3. Hello from Ireland. I played golf for the first time last spring and I got the "bug". I am Italian and golf in Italy is not very popular (they try to keep it for the "elite"). Ireland is great for golfing. I am 38 and my goal is to get to single digit handicap. I hope I am not too late to achieve this.
  4. My post was not "too serious". More than me feeling guilty is my wife feeling mad If I spend a lot of time golfing she has to spend a lot of time minding the kids.
  5. I am a beginner. (let's say I will soon break 100). I feel like clubs (I bought a Wilson full set I guess for beginners) and balls (I am treating myself with V1s) are irrelevant at my level. I was wondering if you can reccomend when I should start looking for better equipment and what are the priorities at each level. Thanks DB
  6. Too much time... often I feel I should play less and feel very guilty taking hours off work and family. It is better than getting drunk in a pub though.
  7. I played mostly on par 3 courses so far (very good par 3 courses). What do you think is the ratio moving to reg courses? Do you add or drop relative strokes? eg if I score +20 on a par 3 should I expect a +50 on reg course? What happened to you?
  8. I started playing golf last May. Pitch and Putt first and mostly Par 3 (good ones) courses up until now. I went on regoular courses only 10 times or so loosing many shots (and balls) with the Driver. On par 3 courses (with full size holes/greens etc.) I now break 80 quite regularly (73 my best so far). Unfortunately now that I would feel like measuring my golf on regular courses, weather is bad. I am curious to see how a 19 over on par 3 course translates on a full size one.
