  1. Regular flex CS Lite. Some other things about my game that may shed some light. I got a new driver at GG last spring. I believe my SS was just below 100, and that is stiff flex (Cobra F Speed). Per my new GPS, a well struck drive was 225, and 250 was the best this past weekend on a cold day. Last summer, my 8 iron distance was around 145, and 7 iron around 155. However, I could not maintain that yardage gap with the long irons. Based on 10 yard gaps, I should be able to hit my 3 iron 190-195, but I would use that for around 180 maybe (I don't bag it usually). As far as swing, I generally take little to know divot, which may change as I am trying out the Stack and Tilt.
  2. Here is another request for a mid handicapper iron. My "unofficial" HC is about 18 (based on my summer golf league). I would estimate that my "iron handicap" is a bit lower, as my main trouble is driving accuracy and my secondary trouble is putting. I currently play Ping G2's, and have had them since 2005 I believe. Several questions: Are these considered "game improvement" or "super game improvement"? What would be the benefit of a newer set? And I must add that I am a budget golfer, typically buying the model after a newer version is released to get a discount. One set I have my eyes on is the Cleveland CG Red. I also have always wanted to try Mizuno. The other option I am considering is Hireko Golf, based on the positive reviews on the site (and the great price). I like the Pings, my issues are with the offset, and I think I hit them too high.
  3. Oh, and by the way Cub fan Bob, Hey, Hey, What do you say...... Cubs are going to win today!
  4. It was a lesson with the club pro. Just watching me swing and working on that aspect. I tend to bargain hunt for golf balls, so I was wondering what other golf balls are considered in the same "group" as the NXT. Not that $30 is a killer, but if I see another brand on sale I wanted to be sure it was compatable.
  5. I had a lesson this past weekend. We spoke at the end of the lesson about golf ball recommendations. He recommended the NXT and said stay away from the SoLo. A question for those who know the similarities of balls from different companies: What would be the equivalent model of golf balls from Bridgestone, Nike, Srixon, etc? I have some Bridgestone E6 and Srixon AD 333 left over from last season and I am wondering how they compare. His recommendation was a harder golf ball with deeper dimples. I know the Lady and other low compression balls would fall out of my recommendations. Also, I was thinking of trying the Nike Ones that are discounted now. Should I go with the Black or Platinum or just listen to the guy and get the NXT? Thanks!
  6. I got the bag last year. I find it has plenty of pockets, it is light enough to carry, and the dividers are nice compared to what I had previous. I have the Sun Mountain Speed Cart, so this bag is a nice compliment. No complaints that I can think of.
  7. Wanted to get some opinions on the new Ping G10s. I have a set of G2's that I like but I need to get bent to a flatter lie. When I got them several years ago, I was doing a Natural Golf swing. I have abandoned that and gone to more of the Jim Hardy one plane swing. When I got the pings, I was fitted for a blue dot (0.75 upright). I believe I will go to at least 0.75 flat or more. The question I have is is it worth it to spend a little over a $100 to get refitted and pay Ping to bend these, or is the improvement in the G10 enough to sell my G2 and just get fitted for the G10?
  8. My wedges have the two c's, one for "cleveland" and the other on the logo.
  9. Which C has the raised dot? I check both my Cleveland wedges (tour action 900 54 and 588dsg 60). Neither have a raised dot. Do I have two fakes?
  10. Tough to say since I didn't follow golf until my mid 20's, which was well after Jack's prime. I did name my first son Jack, and I did like that connection with Mr. Nicklaus.
  11. Civil engineer in Edwardsville, IL.
