  1. Any update on the MA native Richy Werenski? He won the big break and got the sponsor exemption.
  2. A 64* is a terrible hard club to hit clean. I made that mistake bending a 60 to a 62 and I bladed alot of the balls. Ended up buying a 58 and making it a 59 giving me the option to open the club.
  3. Both are very smooth. Would love to hit like that. Not to mention get the distance Finau has going for him.
  4. Man, does DJ have a nice swing or what..
  5. I want outrageous speed with a Callaway XR Driver”! ". Rickie Fowler @ -9 Phil Mickelson @ -11 Patrick Reed @ -10
  6. For some reason I always seem to blade the buried shot. I am fairly confident wedge player but when I am out of my comfort zone I look like I have never even heard of golf before.
  7. I see your point. I am just inferring about different types of lies and how to play them close to the green. Ie: buried lie, fluffy lie, divots etc. The distance would be greenside rough within 5 yards to 15 yards out from the green. I speak to only the courses around me I have played lately..
  8. We've all been there, the approach shot misses and hits the rough around the green. Some lies are sticking up, some are stuck down. For arguments sake the shot to the green is no more than 5-15yds. What shot shape and options do you feel you use the most. The courses I play have fairly high rough and it tends to get stuck down, I like to deloft my 54 and play it like a hard putt. If I manage to have a lie where 75+% of the ball is exposed I will try to use the 58 open faces and pop it to the front of the green and try to get some roll. How about you guys?
  9. I too had trouble hitting 3 -5 W off the deck. Ball position a balls length back from where I had it on the tee worked magic. I recently started hitting a 3 hybrid much better than my 5 wood and gave me the similar distance for the 5 wood and 3 irons. Kind of an in between club. Highly recommend it since it is easier to hit and gives you that in between yardage, just my .02!
  10. That was better than Spieth going nuts at Augusta..Playoff golf, at 17 Sawgrass.. I mean c'mon can you ask for better?
  11. RICCCCKKKIIEEE. Way to go buddy.
  12. Here we go, to the 17th!!!!
  13. Absolutely poked that ball!
  14. Go Rickie!! The aggregate format is great and adds to the drama.
  15. I stack and tilt on the long irons and woods. Allows me to hit down on the ball with the fairway woods. I don't do this with my irons because they tend to pull left or hook badly. 30 yards is a bit much if your on tight fairways.
  16. Likes: Rickie - Seems like a relatable fun guy to be around. PLus i've been following this kid since OKC days. Rory/ Tiger- based on pure shotmaking and swing, much like Tiger of old. The Johnsons - Both DJ and Zach are likable to me. Not to bad on the course either. Dislikes: Webb Simpson - Seems like a closet dbag to me.. Reed - Something about him bothers the heck out of me. Rickie Fowler - Contradicting myself but it pains me not to see him win more when he has a hot run of holes.
  17. Sometimes its painful to watch these guys miss. I know that feel.
  18. And rickie makes the turn back..
  19. What an nice shot by Thomas!
  20. I had a nice session on the range with a friend and he shot a DTL for me. I will post it in the swings section. I feel like I look uncomfortable in my shot. I dont know, maybe the artist is the biggest critic. However, I was able to get a nice piece of real estate at the practice green to practice long chips and pitches up to 25-30 yds. Again, I played well on the range two buckets simulated rounds at my courses. Time will tell if I can get out of my head on thursday for league play.
  21. The only flaw when i try these things is the crowds of people. The 50 foot chip shot up would be something I could do with no one there. The wedge out of the rough is that main thin I focus on while I practice. There are two cuts I can choose from and about 5 pins
  22. This is helpful, thank you. I tend to use about 5 balls in a line for 1ft - 8ft from the hole. I find the hole with break and repeat left to right and right to left. I will try to play a game of up and down tomorrow when I go.
  23. I try to use this method as much as possible. Arrange shots with a mental image of courses i play. I think the mat is what throws me off. We do not have grass ranges where I go, unfortunately so.
  24. Thank you for this, Ill have to check this out.
  25. I think it has to do with more of a free swinging motion on the range. I might be tensing up or trying to muscle/get up my shots on the course.
