  1. I just got a Cleveland Launcher 460Ti Offset (a Christmas present to myself!). I hit my first bucket with it yesterday. Now, let me start by saying that I've never been a long ball hitter. My previous driver, a Nike Ignite, would hit a good drive about 200 yards. That is, after compensating for my slice by aiming at the left side of the fairway and hoping it would stay in the right side of the fairway. Yesterday my game changed. After warming up with about 15 iron shots, I hit my offset Cleveland for the first time and fell in love with it. It did not completely eliminate my slice, which I didn't expect it to do, but it turned it into a very controlable fade. On top of that, It has added about 25-30 yards to my drive. So to answer your question, an offset clubhead does not take away from distance. In my case, it added distance. If you are fighting a slice, I would highly recomend trying an offset driver.
  2. I love my Odyssey White Hot XG. The feel and the feedback are amazing.
  3. I just picked up a set of used Cleveland TA4 irons, and some of them had weight tape on them. Without thinking, I went and removed the tape. Now I'm wondering if I shoud have left it there and tried them first with the tape. What are the benefits of the weight tape? Let me mention that I am definitely not a long ball hitter. My 4 iron is lucky to get 180 yards. I have a somewhat slower swing. Would weight tape help in getting some more distance?
  4. I just picked up a Cleveland Launcher 460Ti Offset. It has helped alot in fixing my slice. It has turned it into a very controllable fade.
  5. A pitching wedge may not be the best club to use around 40 or 50 yards. Your wedge probably has a loft of about 45 to 48 degrees. You may want to consider getting a higher angled wedge, like a gap wedge or a sand wedge. The only time I use my pitching wedge inside 60 yards is for a bump-n-run shot. I personally use a 45* pitching wedge, a 50* gap wedge, a 56* sand wedge and a 60 * lob wedge. They all have a place in my bag, and I use them all each time I play. Oh, and practice, practice, practice!!!
  6. My girlfriend wanted to go to the driving range with me one day to try her hand at golf. For someone who had never touched a club before, she actually did quite well. We've gone to the range a couple times now, and she really enjoyed it, so I decided to buy her a cheap set of clubs so she can go golfing with me. we haven't played a round yet, as she has a very busy schedule, but we are looking forward to it. My buddies say I screwed up by getting her involved with golf. They say golf is an excuse to get away from her!! I guess I will see if they are right after our first round!! Now as far as golfing with the wife, I don't think she'd get along with my girlfriend............ just kidding!!!
