  1. I was at the bar today and played 30 holes cause it rained outside. After the 30 holes I made a video of my driver (my burner 2.0 because I busted the face of my rocketballz) I also made a hybrid video. Only got about 5 swings of each because my wife was ready to go eat. Driver was 319 with carry of 307 i think ( I posted it in my video after the swing) Ball speed 186ish launch 11 Degrees because it has a 10.5 face Hybrid was 285 (not my best attempts, but gives you an idea) 165 ish ball speed, 18 degree loft. Uploading the videos now, on my way to the mexican place to eat so may take a min on 4g. This was after a lot of golf so a few more yards would be easy fresh... I did hit a 364 yard drive on a par 450yd par 4. Looked at my score card after the first 18 and average drive said 312.7. For the record I shot a 81 and won 50$. :P Free mexican. Then I tore them up on the par 3 course, and my game blew up and went to hell on the front 9 on The Judge. Ill repost when videos are up.
  2. Some sims are off bad. The ones that are never calibrated. The sim at Edwin Watts was telling me I was hitting my Burner 2.0 375 yards, I was like, NO this is not right. I think they tweak sims at retail stores to get you to buy clubs when you see OMG 300. The sims here are on a 10 year plan 4x a year.. He has 4 in his bar and I play on each as avaliable. They all read the same give or take 3 yards. For your viewing pleasure, Ill hit one in each sim if they are open to reassure the SUPER ANTI EVERYTHING people on here. Didn't know it would be this much fuss over a sim..... Its like " hey ill prove it to you " other person " Ok, but you can't blah, blah, blah and you cheated blah blah blah". Just chill and post you own video so you get the flip side of it.
  3. You must have never played on a Sim. You hit your REAL clubs into your REAL balls into a $40,000 state of the art sim that has 2 sets of 360 lasers to read ball speed and launch angle. 1 Set reads ball spin while the screen also reads ball spin and angle, plus it takes into account the angle the ball comes off the screen. It is SUPER accurate. It has actually shown me all my club distance that I use on the course, and they are spot on (Save my PW for some odd reason, I think it is because i hit the roof before the screen with the PW) Also, the sims i play on use the same laser contractor that our national missile defense system uses. So if you don't trust them, well.... your kinda screwed... (USA btw) I'm about to head out now to the real course, so maybe ill get a vid of a real course swing for yall. Just kinda hard to prove where the ball went with and iPhone videoing my ball going 300+. On the SIM i get a ball speed read out, launch angle, carry, and total distance.
  4. Did a online tournament on the Golf Sim in my friends bar. You can't mulligan or cheat. +8 on 18 which put my Sim Handicap at +8.7. I'm much better on the Sim than the course. You always have a perfect lie and never loose the ball in deep grass lol. Plus sand is a joke. And so is rough and "deep rough". Only thing is. IF you get in trees on the sim you are SCREWED. You can NOT go through even a leaf. The collision detection is either 100% blocking you or clean. There is no "leaf slows you by 5%... its "Pine needle you grazed just sent your 3 wood 90 Degrees to the right 150 yards" LOL.
  5. A few weeks ago on a 170 yd par 3 I hit a little push to the right. It wasn't that bad to begin with and it was about pin high probably 20yds to the right, It landed, Hit something bounced about 30 feet into the air dead right into a huge gaping run off that was on the other side of the cart path and lost forever. I dropped and made bogey with a 10-15 foot put after a pretty good chip up from about 35 yds under a tree from some pine straw so I wasn't too mad, but was a WTF moment for sure.
  6. If your asking for a video, sure. It will be at the indoor sim because I play there 5x a week. If your opposed to the Indoor sim the oh well. The sim is very accurate, I play course golf 2x a week and sim 5x a week and my club distances are almost spot on... Except for my PW, For some reason on course its around 155 and on sim its 140??? Very weird and leaves a huge gap for my 9 iron which is 165ish. Maybe the launch angle messes with the sim. I could use some free tweaking. Ill prob play tomorrow too, so Ill do a vid then with driver / 3 hybrid / 4 iron. I broke my LD club in two 3 days ago, so give me a day or two for my friend to put the shaft on before I can post my 340-350 stuff. 4 Iron should be 250-265 3 Rescue reaches 305 max Reg Driver is 330 max LD Driver is 360 if I catch it perfect and don't break it in two. Im pretty sure if i put up my reg driver vid with 190 ball speed and 330 distance you will trust me that I can get 30 more out of a Custom LD club. As for your "Why is it unbelievable that I can drive 375+ in Denver?" ..... You lost me there. Maybe because Denver elevation is crazy high? Never been there so whatever. I'd like to see 375+ that is Vegas material. Maybe I missed your point? If you start the thread with a vid of you blasting balls 300+ ill check it out. Sure. Anywhoooo..... If I remember ill shoot an iPhone vid of me in the sim tomorrow and throw it up on here.
  7. Im very happy with a low 80s day. 88 is a very normal day. 90s is a bad day. I play by all rules except if it hit a ball a little off, go to look for it and can't find it. Instead of going all the way back to the tee and holding the group up behind me, I just take a drop from my best guess. Whatever really, I'm just out there having fun. I would say the normal "average" men I have played with shoot a real 95-105. Surprising enough. I would say the "average" woman I play with shoots 90-100. Maybe its just where I live, but the women around here can play some golf. And women will lie a LOT less than us men about strokes and shots.
  8. Not my longest, but probably most fun LD. I did a LD contest 2 months back for fun at a charity tournament. They had some very long hitters and a few names. Their range is about 320 to the rough unmowed hill (so if it hits it it just sticks and no roll or anything and they actually just called it 320 if you carryed to the hill (was for fun anyhow). No real wind that day, range is flat. Guy named Andrew in front of me (one of my friends on the Hooters tour) Puts one probably 335 in the air and they call it back 320. I get up and put one about 330 in the air and they call it back at 320... One of the big names comes up and smashes one 350 way over the hill and they call it back at 350. He wins a burger or something from the clubhouse. Was fun. For the record... All 3 of use have special made LD clubs with grooveless faces 6-8 degree loft and 48.5 Inch shafts, so really no fair for the others there if it were a real competition. My furthest drive ever??? My old course in Alabama had a super high elevated tee that was even with the small tree tops that seperated hole 1 from 2 15degree dogleg left. If you could carry the lateral creek it was around 300 and it was downhill from there up to an elevated green. Was a par 5. I crushed one on a really hot day a few summers ago when i went back and played there with a friend ( I live in GA now) I didn't have my GPS with me and no iPhone at the time, and wasn't really paying attention till I got to the ball, But I cleared the creek and lost it when it went in over the treeline. I knew it was good and straight, but it wasn't until i crossed the little bridge over the creek and started looking for the ball i found it all the way at the bottom of the hill with a "maybe" 100 chip waiting on me. The hole it just over 500, so low 400s i would guess. Just a freak and probably won't happen again unless i play a vegas course one day or something. I guess i hit the downhill perfect and it was very very dry out, plus its a muni course so they don't like wasting that water on the fairways lol. On top of all that, the carts probably drive where I landed a lot to cut off for their 3rd shot, since most lay up short the creek. I really didn't get that much of a reaction from my friend, he played high school golf with me so he knows how I hit..... very long and not very straight lol.
  9. What I was trying to get at is that maybe the OP was figuring driving distance by looking at the scorecard that said "400" to hole. Hit the ball and was at the 75Yd marker and said to himself.... wow a 325yd drive. I'm new to the forum (well not really, just new to posting here) but I have 3 gps range finders lol... and actually use my Iphone app over them all now. Everyone else was putting their 2cents in so I thought I would throw my comment in there. The video the the OP put up is no where near a 270+ carry swing. I hear it all the time from friends saying they consistently hit it 280 just to take them to the range and see them carry 240 with their best swings. I got a funny story, kinda off topic, kinda on. But sells the point of ppl think they can hit it further that they really can. Skip the text below if you are not in story mood. Since I do long drive stuff, I get called out a LOT (man testosterone and all) to do driving contests. So I was playing poker at the bar that I golf at and someone says they saw me hitting the ball a few mins ago and bets 50$ they could out drive me best out of 3 but It doesn't count unless its in fairway. He was a big guy, but to call me out in the bar I play in 5 days a week where i'm know for crushing balls was over the top cockey (and he was a regular) Trust me when I say you can hear the ball contact from my attempts to crush the ball very profoundly from anywhere in the bar. So we go over there and about 20 ppl follow us to the sim to watch the guy take his best shot at me. I end up giving him 5 practice swings, (I take one with my 4 iron) and I end up giving him 5 drives to my 3. He wants to go first, so he does. He hits the ball well actually, first one in the middle about 270. Im thinking, this guy may just have 300 in him. So he continues to top his next few and puts one well struck one 275 in the middle and the puts one like 281 (if i remember right, just on the left rough, not on the fairway. I told him he could take that one "whatever". I get up, pull my 18degree 3Rescue out and put one up the middle 295 off the mat, put the club in my bag and say good game. He gets really mad and says its driver only, that the 3Hybrid don't count and I only have 2 left. I contested for a second then said whatever. So kind of pissed off I pull out my " Beast" club ( I carry 2 drivers, one long drive and other is my TM ) and put one just on the left rough 335 yards out. He says something to the effect of "that sucks you only have one left now to beat me" (remember i gave him his in the left rough)... So I get up and put one 320ish up the middle ( which is short for my LD club but i was being safe ) and collect my 50$ from the ******* that is now pretty pissed off and talking about how I played him and so on (though he wanted the bet to begin with). To be honest, I wasn't even going to take his money, I knew he was making a bad bet. My plan was to say something like "just buy me a beer and were even" but he wanted to be an ass about it. Maybe its just me, but when someone says..... " I drive 300+ yards all the time", I really just want to see them do it. It's actually nice to see a ripped ball 300 down the middle. It is no less manly if you can't though. I get beat by a woman at the bar (granted she was a head golf pro a few years back) all the time. She hits it smooth 190... take the hybrid out and smooth 170.... putts for birdie, and goes home with everyone's money. I would trade my 300+ yard ability for down the middle 240 and arrow straight irons any day of the week. Got to play the cards you were delt. Any other funny long drive stories?
  10. We have a 2x a week tournament at my friends bar that has 4 Full Swing Golf Sims. It is a 2 person team true scramble stroke usually with 5 teams and I would say the average winning score is -5. It is a Indoor Sim, but we make up for it by drinking a lot
  11. I'm a long time reader first post. I think I must chime in here (though it does not matter). I personally am a very long hitter, I've busted 10+ faces and broken 30+ shafts in two with a clubhead speed of 130+ and ball speeds reaching 205ish. My current golf coach/Friend is setting me up for some po/am Long Drive stuff. Even with all of the clubhead speed and power i produce with a 48.5 shaft length, 7 degree loft driver head and the stiffest flex shaft on the market, 340-360 is a monster. (Live in northern GA where it is humid and usually a little damp not much above sea level). Not that it matters, but I was an all state pitcher for my high school team 2 years and played 3 years of highschool golf. Im 6'3 225Lbs and I lay into the club. I personally see no way that swing is producing over 220 carry unless you are half swinging in the videos. 220 is great if you are hitting it straight man, but I wouldn't go putting money down that you can lay out 270+ carry on a regular basis with a stock driver that is probably 9.5 degree loft, stiff flex, 46.5 inch shaft. When im on the course with my TM Rocketballz 9.5 I average 290ish off the tee. (Though of course I could get more, but consistency is key here). If you hit 300 on a gimic hole that says 440 on the score card, dog legs in, super hard fairways, 20yd elevation, and hit a burner....... there is no reason to brag about that, everyone that plays 5+ rounds a year gets to play a hole like this. Hell, I put one in the sand trap beside the green 2 weeks ago on 410 yard hole the hard doglegs to the left and the tee box is elevated probably 15 yards. (probably a 330 yard drive for real, but on the scorecard it looked like 405).
