I play a Newport 2.5 Studio Stainless, 35", 330 gram head weight. I would really like to modify the head weigh to 350grams. Cameron's custom shop says that they will only modify detours, etc which have removable weights. There is a 350 gram head available in the Newport 2, but not the 2.5. To further complicate things, the Newport 2.5 is not part of the 2008 line from Cameron. As much as I don't want to alter the OEM attributes of the putter, I am somewhat desperate to get the additional weight. If anyone can offer me an idea, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks....

Yes- after years of waffling, I now have 2 hybrids in the bag - #3 & #4 TM Burner Rescue. Started with the #4, liked it so much, I replaced the trusty 7 wood with the #4.

Very fun track. It was formerly "semi private", but has now gone fully facist. You will enjoy your round, esp if its not too windy. Great practice facility. Watch the waste bunkers - esp on #1. Have fun... -
What's your grip preference ? Classic Black, or Colored ?

Develop the ability to align yourself properly. I went to see my current coach for the furst time - he had me hit 6 or 7 shots, laid a shaft along my "line", and showed me I was aligned 40 yards to the right of my target bon a 150 yard shot !! It's true... - I dropped 4 strokes off my hc in n a month after this...

I just got the SWEETEST bag ever - it's a Titleist "Hybrid Stand bag" only sold in japan - white and Lime Green with Black accents. It has both the collapsible legs of a walking bag, but the legsa can be zipped into a sleeve, and it looks like a stanbdard "caddie" or "cart" bag. If only my game can now keep up with my bag...

Whats your take on the Ping color system?
ScottySnapps replied to Mark19's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
At 6'2", I would skew toward the more "upright" colors. When you miss, do you miss right or left ? Do you tend to hook a lot of iron shots, or push more of them ? -
Whats your take on the Ping color system?
ScottySnapps replied to Mark19's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I would suggest going to a shop and hitting off an "impact board" ( or whatever they call it), and let them suggest a "color" for you. Ive had 3 sets of Pings, and so much of the "color" you need is determined by your swing path. Here is a bizarre, but true, example.... When I first got fitted, my swing was very upright, my attack angle very steep, and i hit a lot of shots right....so the fitted me with an "upright" club (white dot). I took some lessons, worked hard on improving my swing path, and a year later, I was fitted as an "orange dot". Thats a shift from a very upright swing to a very flat swing. 18 months later, I wsa ready to upgrade again - got fitted, and this time I was a "black" dot - which is standard lie and loft... BTW, Im 5'11", about as average as it gets... -
I finally took the plunge this year. I tried about 10 different ones before settling on the burner rescues - i love em...

She needs to quit manlining spam, or she will be able to borrow Laura Davies shorts...

She will have a career - one with a paper hat where she says "large fries with that, sir", just before she goes on break and eats a spam sandwich with her daddy out behind the dumpster. She and her dad deserve nothing but scorn and mocking - they are a JOKE and the LPGA and PGA have been taken for a complete RIDE by these two frauds

I'm getting new clubs...advice?
ScottySnapps replied to UWSig's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I'd say both are good choices. I've been in your shoes more than once before, and here is what I have settled on as a good way to end up with exactly what I want: find a used set on eBay (the r7s would be very easy to find), try them out, and resell them if you don't like. Ive been able to do this 5 or 6 times and have generally been able to break even on the transactions. -
Getting a putter refinished by Titleist?
ScottySnapps replied to dave39's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Here is a link to forum that can answer all of your Cameron related questions: http://www.cameroncollector.com/forum/index.php Cameron will do any of the following to your club that you request: - Remove the nicks (if possible) - Refinish the head (chices based on what the original finish is) - new shaft - new shaft band - new grip (your choice of colors) - new headcover (your choice of color and design) -
35" Cameron Newport 2.5. The blade style seems to heep me very focused on the correct path and face position at impact, and I really like the GSS insert. Unfortunately, the 2008 Cameron line has abandoned both the GSS and the 2.5...

You are 210 out from the pin, with the front of the green at 195. No trouble on the left, bunkers guarding the right side of the green. What's your weapon and why?

Ive always been a fan of Bob Vokey's wedges, and have played various versions of them for the last 8 years. The look is, in my estimation, very confidence inspiring. That being said, I think wedge selection is almost as "personal" as putter selection - whatever you "feel" the best with is probably what you will perform best with.
