  1. Nope he, they did not, but it was a waste of time and I do not recommend being fitted if the fitter is just up to make a sale. I trusted all the ads and searched Club Champion. I travelled from Guam just to get fitted and I learned that at an expensive price. Now what do I do with this 5K dollar set?
  2. I think the fitter said I hit it longer
  3. I really have no answer for this question and that is what I am trying to figure out
  4. In the search for a more consistent game I have switched my grip size the way I grip the golf club and try to fix the slice all in one swoop during the pandemic. When I went to CA I decided it was time for new clubs and get a proper fitting for a set from driver, woods, hybrid , irons, wedges and putter. It took 7 weeks or more for the clubs to arrive, they felt great but realized I lost a lot of distance on the entire range from driver to wedges. These clubs felt much lighter. Now my handicap has gone from a 15.2 at the lowest with my old clubs to a 19 now with the new set. I will post a video of my swing with the new clubs. Need help GOLF CLUBS SPECS COMPARISON.pdf
  5. I was only fitted for the 7 iron and the driver which also flies so high but does not go very far. The clubs are also a bit longer than stock by 1/2". I am guessing it must be the spin. By the way the fitting was at club champion. I was also asked to hit on a lie board and they made the clubs upright by 1.5 degrees. Is there a learning curve to the new club specs? These clubs overall feel very light. It could also be my swing is not fit for the new clubs? I am confused... GOLF CLUBS SPECS COMPARISON.pdf
  6. Hi here is my scenario. I used to play with a set of PXG 0311XF GEN2 Irons (60g graphite MMT shaft) and Titleist woods (Graphite design Tour AD 7s, driver is 44" ) with a midsize grip and Vardon style grip of holding the clubs. I was doing this for 10 years. My hands would always hurt and I would put some tape around my fingers. I decided to change the grip size to standard and the way I held the club to the interlock. I noticed that my hands did not hurt and I felt I did not grip the clubs too tight. I still hit my clubs the same distance my approach wedge would go about 105 to 110 yds. maybe a tad shorter than before but no one club length. To take it a step further I went to a fitter and they changed my clubs to a Srixon ZX4 and had the KBS Tour Graphite 60g shaft in the irons they also fitted me with a Callaway Epic driver with a Diamana 40g shaft to a 45" length driver. All my clubs now have a swing weight of D3. I lost a club length in distance now my approach wedge is just like my SW about 95 yds. My ball flight is so high in all these clubs but distance is not there. Could this be me all the changes I incorporated in a few months since be the culprit? All the clubs now I hit them shorter. I incorporated all these changes in July of last year. Need help My handicap has gone from a 15.2 to a 19 from all these changes
  7. Good putting form to me is something repeatable and comfortable just like the way you grip the putter.
  8. What kind of equipment do we need to have at the bare minimum?
  9. I have been playing on and off for the last maybe 12 years and my handicap fluctuates like the tide. The friends who took up the game later than me now have single digit handicaps. I am so inconsistent, I keep hitting over the top.......just frustrated
  10. could not have said it any better
  11. I do not mind investing in some gym equipment, I have also been paying for a gym membership even to this day and have not gone to a gym for more than a year due to the pandemic....
  12. Okay will follow them Interesting, I used to go to the gym 3 times a week and one Yoga Session per week and my aches and pains from having a desk job sitting for more than 8 hours and playing gradually went away but now because of the pandemic I practice more but lost the opportunity to go back to the gym because of the threat of catching COVID 19. I appreciate all your comments but I got no idea what the exercises are called and the only things I have at home are a few barbells, stretch bands and that's it. I have weak joints and as I exercise or strengthen one joint another weak link will start to hurt like elbows and wrist.
  13. Can you help me find out what these exercises are and how to do them? is there a website? I am 58 yrs old and I realized exercise helps me avoid injury.
  14. Trying to slow down the effects of aging in my golf game by improving my technique and equipment to its full potential
  15. Since the pandemic I built myself a net and a nice mat and began hitting balls. I never went to the driving range because my body is sore after and when I go out to play I suck because of the hurt in my body. I am 58 yrs old. Now since the mat and net I have taken a video of my swing and try to correct the faults. Since then my body does not hurt as much and I began to see improvements. I also followed Mobile Clubmaker and fitted the driver myself based on his video. Now I am hitting my driver with much consistency. My weak point now is putting. I am now trying to build my own putting green at home ( it is a long shot). My last outing is shot a 52 at the easy front nine. I think I hit all the bunkers I could and 3 putted on quite a few holes. Now on the harder back nine, I shot a 42, never hit it into a bunker and max was a 2 putt.... oh well the journey continues TheGolfather Onward Talofofo Golf Resort Onward Talofofo White Tees - 68.1 / 120 April 09, 2021, Talofofo GU View Scorecards at play.golfshot.com 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 OUT 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 IN TOTAL Distance 459 160 341 491 320 156 366 397 343 3033 545 339 282 337 163 330 167 340 502 3005 6038 Handicap 15 3 11 7 9 13 1 5 17 16 14 8 2 18 12 10 4 6 Par 5 3 4 5 4 3 4 4 4 36 5 4 4 4 3 4 3 4 5 36 72 Score 6 5 6 6 8 4 6 5 6 52 7 4 4 4 4 5 5 4 5 42 94 Round Score +1 +2 +3 +3 +6 +7 +8 +8 +10 +10 +12 +12 +11 +10 +11 +12 +13 +12 +11 +1 +11 Net Score 6 4 5 5 7 4 5 4 6 46 7 4 3 3 4 5 4 3 4 37 83 Tee Club 1W 6i 3W 1W 5W 7i 1W 1W 1W 3W 1W 3W 3W 7i 3W 8i 1W 1W Fairways 71% 100% 86% Gir 22% 33% 28% Putts 2 2 2 3 4 3 2 1 2 21 2 2 2 2 2 2 1 1 1 15 36 Sand Shots -- 1 -- -- -- -- 1 1 2 5 1 -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- 1 6 Penalties -- -- -- -- 1 -- -- -- -- 1 -- -- -- -- -- 1 2 -- -- 3
  16. How often and how does one practice at a driving range? do you start everyday with the same clubs? do you hit the clubs that are more troublesome? at an average how many balls do you hit at a driving range per session? All these questions for a 58 year old player. Thanks,
  17. Thank you, I will
  18. Thanks Billy, I did not get professional lessons and a lot of technology is not available on Guam including a proper fitting. It would be nice to get fitted properly as the body ages so is the need to get the eqpt properly built for the aging body. I have been trying to follow videos on YouTube (Mobile Clubmaker, TXG and Rick Shields)on how to fit myself with my clubs. A few days ago I bought a swing weight scale and some lead tape. I have also been playing around with the head weights on my Titleist driver which is an old one. I used to use my TaylorMade M2 but I cut it shorter and now it is too light and I do not have extra weights for it nor do I know what weight it has now. I am hoping to go to CA this year and get fitted there properly. But for now I am working with this old body and doing what I can do to have a better swing with hopefully the help from you guys...
  19. sorry not too technically inclined it took me a couple of days to figure out how to edit the video so I could get better..
  20. My swing with the FW and my 9 iron Aha when I am the one looking at my swing alone I do not see that it becomes flat, thanks
  21. I've been Playing Golf for: 15 yrs My current handicap index or average score is: 15.6 My typical ball flight is: medium The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: slice Videos:
  22. Hi Thank you for your input. Exercise has helped me thru the numerous injuries from most likely a bad swing. But as time goes, I learned to exercise the muscles which I had injured just so that I could keep on playing against my doctors advise. I exercise my upper body so I feel less pain on my left shoulder and do Yoga and planks to strengthen my core so I do not re-injure my lower back. Bicycling has also helped to get my legs stronger. When practice putting for an hour my back is shot so is my plantar fasciitis. I would love to know what sort of weight training and exercise regimen is specific for the golfing muscles per se. BTW I am 58
