  1. Some of the ones in our area are baked to cement, and worn edges. Thr play is to putt, ball goes up the slope in the air and lands on the green. Course that course is $25 with a cart. Rest of the course is fine really
  2. Just curious, thinking of going back to overlap for a drawier ball flight
  3. I know some drills, but to paraphrase Herman Edwards - "why do we play? to HIT THE BALL....."
  4. Yep. Growing up our public pool had a putt putt course. Played the hell out of it when I wasn't in the pool. Reason I putt well today really. I had to learn to read greens instead of figuring out where to hit off the side board to get into the clowns mouth, but hitting it where you want it to go and some predefined distance is a great start!
  5. Id guess they yanked 3 non TM clubs out right before the pic!
  6. Not yet. But I'd be sure and ask the doc, and with inuries we have always found physical therapy to be the quickest way to get back and stay back, so if you can do that I'd sure recommend it. And tell the PT folks you golf, they can probably fix ya up
  7. Oh yeah, I looked at my new burner 2.0's compared to the 24 year old Wilson's. bout a club and a half difference in loft. I might try and find a store with graphite and steel 2.0's, or if they have one of them there carts where they can build clubs up.
  8. 3-5 hybrid, short game to die for, kick the younguns asses! Thas what i'm trying, but not there yet. Good luck
  9. Cool. I iz a fizix prof myself.
  10. WU Tiger =Wittenberg Tigers? I grew up in Springfield, now around Cincy....
  11. 53, weak legs, returning to movement after 5 years off due to illness. Got new clubs, practicing regularly, have had 3 lessons. BUT the big reason for lack of distance and cause of erraticism late in the round is lack of strength, stamina, and flexibility. These do not seem to be for sale at Golf Galaxy.......I "used" to be an ath-a-lete, but... So I'm looking at amazon and see a Gary Player book "golf begins at 50", some stretching/drill books. Got about a 15 now (after 12 rounds so far this year), short distance but I can putt thank god, that do help. So what resources should I check out? Thanks.
  12. >> If you have particular hopes of hitting farther as you get better the gaps only get bigger. >> hopes and wishes, but I wouldn't bet a mortgage payment on it happening. I will not ignore techinique, and know there are no real shortcuts, but like I said I got the bug. And the improvement in stuff since I got clubs 24 years ago...... Well its amazing
  13. OK, not much strength, recovering from a long illness. Distance is way down, even with burner 2.0 irons instead of 24 year old Wilson's. Say 130-135 carry for a 7 iron I got 3-5 Taylormade rescue/hybrid, and love them. They go straighter and farther than the corresponding irons. Some of that of course is due to the fact the hybrids are longer, and the nature of the head. But I still need to carry a 5 iron to fill a gap twixt the 5 hybrid and the 6 iron. I would think graphite shafts might give me more swing speed -> more distance, and I could lose the 5 iron and carry another wedge? Also the graphite shafts seem kinder to my 53 year old hands and elbows. Thoughts?
  14. I have a TM burner 2.0 pitching wedge, 45 degrees, and a TM Rac 52 (also a 56). The gap twixt them is 25 yards. Not crazy about the RAC's, so I'm thinking of getting a burner 2.0 50, and maybe a Ping SW 56 Or TM 2.0 50, and a 54 and 58? 15 handicap, at least half of which is short game related. So other than practicing good technique (given hopefully), are either of these good alternatives, or just hit the 45 choked up to get in between? I don't know the yardage difference for that yet (yeah I should I know....) and think I c an choke up without screwing my swing up too much. Just returning after time off, regaining strength, and got the bug bad. I know I can't just throw money at the problem, but if I can help by spending some I'm willing.
  15. same choice here, I figured I'm a 15, liked the forgiveness of the Burner's (plus I could use diff in price to get hybrids/wedge). They are a tad heavy compared to my really old Wilson's but I've gotten used to it.
  16. up near Oxford Just got back in the game after some health problems, sucking, hit enough decent shots to make me come back, have some fun, and lots of exercise
  17. 15 handicap here, 15* 3 wood, 18*, 21*, 24* hybrids, 5-9i, pw, 52,56
  18. Lost a lot of length, my 3 and 4 irons went no further than the 5, well some but not 10 yards per. 3-5 hybrids, still have 5 iron as there is a gap twixt 5h and 6i that it fills. Plus WHEN I get in trees I can hit a knockdown with a 5 irons
  19. Well I have to ride as I have no strength in my legs, and the hardest thing to do is get the ball out of the cup, so.......I got a suction cup, but no broomstick. I can use my 8-9 iron as a chipper. After the last few years, I am just happy to be alive, suction cup and all.
  20. I meant the latter, but I guess I should never say never :-)
  21. First time poster. Havent played for 5 years due to illness. Back now with new clubs replacing the 24 year old Wilsons. Took me a bit to get used to a 3 and 4 hybrid. Irons and woods were ok, just a lot shorter than they had been Love em now, and just got a 5h I have told friends if I get a belly putter to put me down The Burner 2.0 3w, 3-5h, 5-p are nice but it feels like cheating they work so much better. Hell yes I am keeping them. :-)
