  1. I use a Callaway FT-5 with a UST Proforce V2 Stiff shaft. Some people complain about the sound, but I love the club. The ball just flies off of the clubface. I get about 240-250 yds of carry and 15 or so more in roll on average. The club is very forgiving as well.
  2. I bought an eBay auction from LostGolfBalls and I was pretty satisfied. The balls were probably a bit better condition than most other sites. The top quality of balls from this site are usually balls that were hit only a few times and as a new player, you shouldn't require brand new golf balls to improve in the game.
  3. Juno. I hear There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men were both good, but I haven't seen them yet.
  4. I'm still trying to find my favorite ball, but the ball that gives me the most consistency so far is the Maxfli Noodle Long and Soft. It isn't great at anything, but it's a good all-around ball and easy on the pocketbook. I've been experimenting with some new balls including: Hx Hot, E6+, and Wilson Fifty Fifty.
  5. I do the exact same thing as well. I know there are pros out there that hit with a natural fade, but I'd also like to straighten out my longer irons so I can better aim and get more distance on my shots. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  6. Golfnow.com is also a very nice site. I actually registered and get emailed great discounts the day before.
  7. I love using my lob wedge for all short game shots. It's definitely my favorite club
  8. I just bought the CG14 60* Std Bounce about 2 weeks ago and I love it. It's easy to hit all types of shots. It has great spin and feels soft. I found it easier to flop with this wedge compared to others as well Hope that helps
  9. I have a Cleveland CG4 PW, CG12 56*, and CG14 60*. Love them all. The CG14 LW is great. Tons of spin. Easy to hit all types of shots.
  10. I've hit many sets that came out 1-2 years ago and I think they've dropped down in price. I currently own Cleveland CG4s and I like them but here are some sets that I've hit at a shop and kind of wished I got instead: Ping i5 Ping i10 (Edit: the 10s are all new) Ping G10s are nice too but the soles are a bit too wide for my liking Callaway X20 (shafts only come in Uniflex I think) Taylormade R7 Don't get me wrong, the CG4s are really nice, forgiving, and soft, but I'd feel the sets listed above would be more consistent and they feel great.
  11. Golf_junkie has hit it on the dot with one thing. It's a huge difference hitting balls off of a mat and playing on grass. I guess a huge factor you should keep in mind is confidence and mindset. Whenever I hit a bad shot or one I don't like, my game also goes downhill since my head isn't in the game. So just slow it down, breathe, resync your tempo, and just make a smooth stroke. Don't try to play with expectations that something is going to happen or that you're hoping to break x0 this round. Clear your head, visualize the shot, commit to it, and make the swing. Hopefully your game gets better. Cheers
