My dream bag would be full of clubs that I can actually hit consistantly lol. But sure... Driver: R11 3 W: RBZ Hybrids: R11 Irons: AP2s Wedges: Vokey Putter: SC all fitted to me. and said bag would be a Hoofer.

Played my first 18 this weekend... shot a 113 (62 front and 51 back). First time playing with a partner so I was a little nervous, but luckily we where equally bad.

Playing a 530 yard par 5 with a water hazard about 210 from the tee box... you either have to lay up or carry 250 to clear it. Hit my 4 hybrid off the tee and it landed around 180, right of the cart path in a muddy patch of bare ground. Ball was about 30% burried and had mud all over it. Since I don't know the ins and outs of taking relief I took out my 6 iron and blasted it as it lied. Carried the hazard and landed in the fairway about with about 200 left to the green. Granted it covered my lower body in mud and it took me a couple holes to walk all the mud out of my spikes, but the shot felt great. I followed that with skulling my 5W right into a fairway bunker about 60 yards away and ended up taking a double for that hole.

I'm tempted to wear something simular to my unit's golf tourney, just for laughs. Would I wear that on just any given Sunday? Probably not...

The only reason to brand match is if that particular brand is signing your checks... Outside of that, it's just something that people choose to do. I have a buddy at the gym that refuse to wear a nike shirt with adidas shorts etc. He doesn't prefer one over the other, he's just quirky like that. But most of the people I know hit or wear whatever works for them. Heck look at the signatures on this forum... a good number of people aren't loyal to one company in their bag... much less what brand thier belt is.

I'd have to disagree somewhat with that... I have a Ping hat and not a single Ping club. I bought the hat on my first day back to playing the game at a the proshop where I had my lesson that day. That particular shop only sells Ping clubs/clothing so I didn't have a choice really. I guess I could have waited and gone to a local pro shop with a wider selection the next day, but then I would have had to deal with the sweat pouring down my face and sun in my eyes that day. Even then though, I'd be hard pressed to find a "Orlimar" hat at a proshop anywhere. That was a few months ago, and I've been upgrading my arsenal slowly (as my budget allows) and I'm certainly not going to throw away a 25 dollar hat so I won't tick off a Ping elitest or in hopes not to effect someones snap judgements on me? Nope... sorry about their luck.
