As a Texas Tech alum I have very mixed feelings about this. I'm really disappointed that after 6+ seasons our team is not more competitive. At the same time you cannot deny the national attention that has been brought on the program. At first I was very negative towards his son Pat taking over the coaching, but so far he's impressed me and seems to be trying to bring new things to the program, things that RMK did not do. For instance, at tonight's game they are turning off the lights and doing the snazzy player introductions prior to the game. Bob would never go for this, but the kids like it. Little things like that should help recruiting. Overall our pool of potential players got a lot bigger with Bob out of the picture, because a lot of kids just would never consider playing for him.
