  1. I'm currently after a 21 degree hybrid and am looking at the 909,585 h or the callaway ft. i have found a good offer on the 585, £80 brand new. advice please, i'm not that bothered about workability just a traditional looking small head and quite a low ball flight. the 909 is nicer looking than the 585 imo but i dont think it is 50 quid nicer. and how does the ft compar
  2. I purchased the CCI Cast as a second set of irons to go in the back of the cabriolet about 2 months ago. They are now up to my prefered set and will be the irons I start the season with ahead of my mizuno mp's. And the sv wedge is nice also, I have a 58 degree one and love it, only used it for 3 rounds though. I'd go for the CCI's like you did, I always found it difficult to judge distance with taylor made irons as the ball does come off them hot.
  3. at your supposed level I would have thought accuracy was over distance in your list of priorities, especially how long you must be with longer irons. steel will be more accurate, I wouldn't change for less than 10 yards of distance.
  4. tbh I never fancied them but my fiancee was offered them on a real good deal through her work. I am in the market for a 21 hybrid but the only 2 I have really liked are the new Titleist one and the Callaway FT. I was just looking for feedback as it was a mega good deal.
  5. I saw the 909 d3 yesterday and loved it, what a lovely club, sat behind the ball so nice. IMO the nicest looking driver out there
  6. Guess it's quite funny we have a thread about a club that the great man can hardly hit and also hardly ever hits.
  7. Sabbatani annoys me, so does Kim.
  8. Well I would hope if he was the Tiger of the Nationwide tour he would quickly be back on the US PGA tour. However he won't win no Majors or WGC events playing on the Nationwide tour and surely that is where Tiger comes into his own.
  9. consistency is the key here my man. It's great shooting 59 one day but following it with 74 is no use to anyone.
  10. I would say Stenson was very close to them just now, 2 wins in 2 weeks, and 2 3rd places in the last 2 majors of the season. He was also top 5 at the HSBC. He is the absolute clown of the course the biggest joker going, I guess people just deal with the on-course stuff in different ways.
  11. oh dear, oh dear
  12. 'I'm 10 ahead with 9 to play lets stick a few in the drink to keep subpar happy.'
  13. I love all these stories. I heard he used Mizuno all through his amateur days then until about 1999 until Titleist finally produced a set he was happy with which were actually Miuras with a Titleist logo.. He then allegedly used the Miura/Titleists with a Nike logo until Nike finally made an iron which he was happy with which were very close to the miura/titleist irons just with a slight change in the centre of gravity. But I'm probably talking crap
  14. I would see how you get on but my gut feeling would be to use the CCI's until you become super consistent with the ball striking. I have the CCI Cast as my second set, I play off 4 and love them. Really classic looking cavity, not huge chunky things, ideal when you want to switch to a more player iron as the change won't be as drastic.
  15. He's far from boring, he makes loads of birdies, ok he isn't the most animated and hides behind glasses but I like to watch him. Ok that tourney was a procession but his win in Dubai in 2007 was thrilling as was the World Cup. I can see Stenson becoming like Harrington and building his game around the majors. the two third places in the open and the us pga last season ,erely hinted at this.
  16. Auchterlonies are selling the 3 wood with a graphite shift for £79 for the mizuno and £99 for the Titleist....which one should I buy?
  17. I'd also like to see Oliver Wilson and Ross Fisher become multiple winners. I have a feeling Paul Casey is going to have a big year
  18. saw them in auchterlonie's today in st andrew's, beautiful clubs but as said before I think they are for better players. A big improvement on the 585 imo. Reminded me a little of the Callawat FT Hybrid that Phil uses.
  19. no he's on the european tour next season, doubt he'll move to the us tour for along time yet.
  20. no buddy, I only wanted a set to keep in the back of the car, and at the weekend house so just got the one's that looked the best for the best price. love the cast cci's though.
  21. the 58 one arrived and I was well impressed with the weight, looks a nice club, for £30 I can't complain, fresh grooves
  22. I heard the first one he got was like $15 in a mall then once he started winning got the bling tastic one's custom made based on the same design
  23. picked up an FT5 a few weeks ago, loving it so far.
  24. Cool, I've only hit them 3 times at the practice ground but was impressed, nice flight and seem to fly straight. PW is quite bulky in comparrison to the rest of the set though
