  1. I wasn't trying to be an ass. sorry if you took it that way.
  2. I agree w/ the guys above. these have been played several times. I have played about 15 rounds with my ZM's and they look way, way, way better than these. Sorry you got lied to.
  3. local shop let me take out a mizuno 3 wood. i hope i like it!! hopefully will get to the range tonight.
  4. if your index is truly a 36 then i say, NO they are not worth it. You can get great balls for much less. that said, I know a lot of high handicappers who play them for the cool factor and they 'think' it makes a difference. I personally like the feel of the pro-v off the iron and putter face. They are also good around the greens. I've tried almost every ball out there and always come back to Titleist.
  5. I'm glad you like them, but your review just doesn't seem right to me.
  6. i never heard of Max Out. I'll check it out.
  7. what did u go with??
  8. the driver is off the shelf. i currently play the blue aldila shaft. i'm really considering the UST or speeder shaft.
  9. I currently hit a 9.5 Titleist D2. The ball goes noticeably high for some reason. I'm sure partly due to my swing and also how high I tee the ball. If i go to a 7.5 deg. driver will my mistakes be accentuated? ie snap hooks and banana slices? I've noticed that most tour pro's favor 9.5 degree drivers, but not sure exactly the reasoning for this. thanks
  10. you are better off. go find some new friends who will push you to get even better. I'm a true beleiver that playing with crappier players does nothing for your game. in fact, in can actually hurt you.
  11. Just curious, do you guys give your buddy's strokes? Over the weekend, I have a buddy 25 strokes. I could not beleive i was doing it, but i really wanted to play for money. He normally doesn't break 100. Needless to say, i lost $40 after pressing on the last hole. I shot 79 w/ two doubles and he careered with a 98. :(
  12. keep the suggestions coming guys. anyone recommend nike?
  13. i can't find any info on the ft tour version???
  14. wow, i never even heard of tour edge. let me google them. thanks
  15. Hi guys, i've tried three different woods so far and i can't get comfortable w/ any of them. So far I've tried: Titleist Callaway FT- Taylor Made Burner TP Its wiered because I can hit my driver just dandy, but when i look down at a three wood it makes me adjust my grip/swing and caused me to pull hook. I really want a 3 wood that has a square face. Seems like almost everything out there has a slightly shut face. thanks!!
  16. OMG, today, it took me 5.5 hours to play my local muni course. why o why can't i afford a country club membership? :(
  17. not sure if this was adressed yet, but for me, blades are harder to hit simply do to the size of the sweet spot relative to the golf ball. There is seriouly no room for error. a Shot hit on the heel or toe will sting your hands with instant feedback. I've tried several forged and cavity back irons, but i'm back to titleist blades now. i will likely never play anything else. for me, aesthetics are also key. blades are just pretty to look at and this actually helps my confidence.
  18. I think there should be specified courses that only allow people with indexes less than 15 to play. Is this just wishful thinking??
  19. is it platinum plated?
  20. Don't you just love e-bay? Sure its autographed by billy mayfair, but he's no Tiger woods. If this thing sells, there are some true suckers out there or die hard mayfair fans. http://http://cgi.ebay.com/TITLEIST-909-D2-8-5-DRIVER-BILLY-MAYFAIR-Tour-Issue_W0QQitemZ330274026683QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item330274026683&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_tr ksid=p3286.c0.m14
  21. you are correct. as of now, i'm going to test our the UST V2 65 and fujikura speeder. I don't think going to x-stiff would help. I've tried the x-stiff before and it felt like a telephone pole. I'll probably stick with the D2 for a while until the 909 prices come down. By then, I'm sure some crazy new titleist driver will be out. :(
  22. what's a good pro-force shaft for my swing speed and the driver head I'm using? :)
  23. i thought westwood had the blisters. everyone had excuses.. also, how are these guys hitting 350+ yard drives? i would assume these are down wind dog legs? 300 yards is understandable, but 350+ is crazy...!!
  24. Ok, so right now I play the Titleist D2 driver with blue Aldila NV shaft (stiff). My swing speed is about 110 and i consistently hit the ball about 270 and up to 300 when i bomb it. Im looking for a driver that will help me get that little extra ROLL with my driver and more consistently get into the 290-300 yard range on drives. I guess my real question is- can I solve this w/ a new driver, shaft, or combination of both? I read that the new Titleiest 909 and Taylor Made driver actually have less than 460cc heads in order to help maximize distance for better players??
