2. Hi there, would like some input on my loading position. At the bottom of this post you will find 2 images, fig B is my usual and A is what I would like some insights. I understand that X-factor refers to the angular difference in rotation of the shoulders and hips, the bigger the X-factor, the more torque and club head speed. A quieter lower body also means a more stable base with less moving parts, hence a more consistent swing. In fig A, you can see that I have restricted my hip turn too a very minimal amount while still maintaining the same shoulder rotation as in fig B which is my normal. By the theory of the X-factor stretch, would restricting the hip turn increase torque and allow me to drive it even farther than I already do? Your thoughts are most welcome. PS: Is not an overswing, just an awkward camera angle. Thanks, MLP(: fig A fig A
3. I normally play a draw but I'm trying to hit it dead straight or with as little deviation as possible to try to straighten out the shots
4. You might want to pause at the top for a bit. Make a count. 1, 2. Also, hit more down on the ball
5. Hi there! I used to have the same problem as you, getting too inside and then having to flip the club and get awkward pulls. What my coach got me doing it getting to the top and them come down steeper into the ball, it does help if you rotate your left hip. Meaning to say that if I drew a line down at your butt your left check would cross it
6. Yes, an the more direct reason why you're slicing is because you're scooping the ball. Trying to use the club as a scoop to flick it up, hence causing your head to sway very far back. Just try to hit the ball into the ground, imagine the club to be a hammer and all you need to do I squeeze the ball into the ground and it will lift off(:
7. Hey man, you're not a lone. I've been desperately trying to get my handicap down but it's only going north. And then as if it wasn't bad enough I need to stop playing for 6 months to prep for my major exams
8. I've been Playing Golf for: 5 years My current handicap index or average score is: 16.2 My typical ball flight is: Low with the woods and high with the irons The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: duff straight pull [rule] Videos:
9. Haha you poor folks! Here in Singapore it's sunny everyday(;
10. You're hcap 10. Drive the ball 290. 290 is pretty tour distance already. Which only implies that you're loosing shots from poor approaches. So. If you can get the ball to probably 240 with a 3 hybrid then you should be at 230 with the 4i. If I were you, I'd dump the hybrids. Yes both. And get more club at the bottom. Honestly. When do you get to use your 3 wood and hybrids. Only the par 5, maybe the stretchy par 4s and perhaps to reach some doglegs. You're not going to be needing to hit 250 many times in a round. Get more scoring clubs
11. Could you recommend a stiffer shaft? I like the PX6.0 I'm using now, 6.5 just doesn't work for me
12. To everyone who complain about battery life, you don't need to have your 3G turned on for GPS to work
13. Golfshot. But they're almost equals. Golfshot is just cleaner IMO and since I use golfplan too it just integrates
14. Well my issue is that I don't have much roll out. The carry is literally about 220m and then the ball just sits there. How do I get more forward rollout
15. Hello, I have been thinking about maximizing distance off my 3 wood in both departments of carry and roll. I would say that I am already hitting it as far as I possibly could, aggressive hip turn, lag and all that good stuff. Then I watched Playing Lessons (w/ Luke D) and he said this about hitting drives farther "hit more up on the ball to give it more carry and less spin..." So that got me thinking... If lower lofted clubs have the ability to put more spin on the ball, what if I lowered the loft on my R11s 3-wood from 15.5 to 14 which would theoretically give it more spin. Also, in conjunction with what Luke D said, hitting more up on the ball reduces spin. So, if I adjusted my spine angle to get a more positive attack angle and hit a draw, would that then produce a high-bomb draw whereby I get maximum carry at a nice ball flight(without ballooning from back spin) and roll out (due to the forward roll placed by the draw). Just some background... I'm 15, 65kg and about 1.74m tall. The current setup on my 3 woods is a R11s (non-TP) with a Project X 6.0. I average out at about 220m(carry+rollout). Thanks in advance for your thoughts, MLP
16. Nike SQ. Easiest 3 wood I've hit. Not the longest though.
17. toothpaste. toothpaste.
18. Hi, I have a TM TP CB and would like to make a 1 deg lie angle change. Is it possible? I read smewhere that cast iron clubs can't change have their lie angles changed. PS the CB is a semi forged club
19. Oh I see! Thanks for the enlightenment!!
20. I was just wondering... If I bought a shaft, say Phenom RIP 70g. It would be at 46" and if I cut it down to suit my 3w length of 43", wouldn't that mean my shaft is now less weighted and even off balanced? How do I buy a shaft for my 3w then? And what do I need to do to bring it from 46" to 43" without compromising the balance of the shaft?
