  1. I normally am a Taylor Made guy, I went to Golf Galaxy this week for a fitting on the Diablo's, the guy had me also hit the burner irons and the new nike's....the Diablo's felt much better than the other 2 clubs. Got my new set, the 3-4Hybrid and the 5-PW Irons...can't wait to Play with them this weekend. I think they will take time to get used to the distance, at the range I was consistent at 150 with the 8 Iron. The ball really does fly off the club...
  2. If you are a beginner looking to improve these are great irons for you, they are easy to hit and extremely forgiving on miss hits. A buddy of mine bought them a year ago and improved by 6-10 strokes per round. I made my brother in law buy a set this past weekend, he was frustrated as hell trying to hit 3 4 and 5 irons, he never broke 60 playing 9 holes. We played last Sunday and he shot a 52 for 9, it was his best round yet. You can get a set of last years on the web in the 300 range...
  3. I just bought the VP5 mallet style and used it over the weekend, my putting was much improved and had a tremendous feel. I really think the alignment feature is a tremendous help.
  4. You took the words right out of my mouth. I hated the FT-5, I love the Burner. I also liked the Hi-bore XL, great club for $199.
  5. I forgot to add that you should see the X on the glove while in your stance, in my former grip I could never see my 2nd knuckle, the grip was more in my palm whereas Player said it should be on the fingers.
  6. I have had problems with slicing, I saw a tip from Gary Player on the golf channel on how to properly grip the club, he drew an X on the (left) glove hand on the 2nd knucle, I tried this today (at the range) and the ball was going longer and straighter for me. I was actually hitting a nice draw around 240 yds of carry,I can't wait to try it on the course. Then again..... I imagine I will get out there and slice away. Has anyone changed their grip with success and does anyone have any other grip tips or similar stories.
  7. I just got a TM Burner Draw driver, I played with it for the first time last weekend, it really helped my slicing. Not to mention distance was improved and the club has tremendous loft for a 9.5 degree. Even on mishits I was getting the ball in the fairway.
  8. I agree with you....Kitty the "shake maker" is a hottie, however those two idiots in that commercial drive me nuts not to mention it's on the golf channel during every commercial break. I just can't take seeing it anymore.
  9. My Golf Galaxy here in CT. is the same way, I can get 230-250 with my driver, I went in there and couldn't get the ball over 220. One the the guys that works there says in their simulator you need to add 20-30 yards to whatever you hit. Why don't they have a tech get in there and fix it already....
  10. This I do agree with, I was going to buy the Hi-Bore XL for $199, however it was between that and the TM Burner, my buddy got me a better deal on the burner so I went with that club.
  11. Luckily, my range here in CT. has real grass tee boxes when the weather is nice, so it is much more realistic.......But we all (hackers) have the same issue, we all hit well off the mats.
  12. I like DD, however in watching him, he looks terrible, very out of shape. I think if he applied himself into a serious fitness regimen and nutrition program and lost some weight he could do it. Work with Butch or Hank someone that can get his head on straight. I also think he is just too comfortable, some of these guys get some $$$ and lose the hunger. I would love to see him back in the top 10...
  13. I respectfully disagree, I thougt the SUMO was loud as hell and felt like a tin can at the same time...I hated it.
  14. I agree, I just got a Burner myself, my buddy works for Adidas, so I got the employee discount...The burner is a great driver. I tried the Hi-Bore XL, Sumo, Cobra etc......the TM Drivers felt the best.
  15. I am a big fan of the Titleist NXT Extreme, it has felt the best for me of all the Titleist balls. Not to hard or too soft. I didn't care for either of the Pro V1 balls, felt way too soft, then again I am a hacker.
  16. I am a Taylor Made guy, however, I don't like their rescue clubs, I bought a Cleveland HALO 19 degree 2 Iron Hybrid, it's a great club, felt much more solid and loftier than the TM rescue or burner rescue. Plus because it is a 2006 leftover, the club was only $80. It is good for around 225-230, nice and straight. They have them in 3's and 4's as well....
