  1. I have been thinking about old clubs I have owned and in particular a Taylor Made Burner I once owned with an Aldila HM40 graphite shaft. I could hit that club further than anything else I have ever owned. This was 20 years ago so I may have slowed down a little but does anyone know of a great shaft that should be brought back. I have requested so more information about the HM40 to golfclubshaftreview.com who have helped me out in the past for obscure requests. Does anyone have one knocking about in their garage? If so, go try it out again.
  2. I would take a look at mizuno MP range of irons. These are forged heads with great feel and designed for the better player. Shaft wise, I would do a little research first and try and hit a few clubs with different shafts to get an idea of what you like the feel of before going for your fitting. Have a look at golfclubshaftreview.com to find out about different shafts out there to try.
  3. Congratulations on your win. This site may help you find what you are looking for golfclubshaftreview.com
  4. Xp's are heavier than SL's and Dynalite's. Xp's will hit a ball mid flight and SL's will hit a low ball flight according to True Temper's specs. Have you thought about KBS or Project X. Have a look on golfclubshaftreview.com for all the shaft information.
  5. Loose the 3 iron and use the hybrid or, bend the 50 degree wedge to 52 and use to 60 degree wedge in the sand and loose the 58 degree. Good luck
  6. Does anyone know anything about NVENTiX and NUNCHUK safts? I saw a link on golfclubshaftreview.com for these shafts but would like to know if anyone as ever hit them. Are they just a gimmick or does one shaft really fit all?
  7. The difference between S200 and S300 is very slight and you shouldn't worry about it too much. The 200,s are slightly lighter than the 300,s by 3 grams, I would be more worried if I had found a middle iron with a different shaft. Most people have odd wedges which don't match the rest of their clubs. True Temper's spinner shaft is 124 grams, the same as your S200. Question, do your wood shafts all match? Again, most people carry different woods with different shafts. Check out golfclubshaftreview.com for shaft specs. Don't have sleepless nights about it.
  8. Hogan Apex PC's were a great blade and probably the most important irons were Karstens original cavity backed irons, The first real game improvement iron. Best club ever is yet to be made!
  9. Fat putter grips stop wrist hinge when putting. If you have a wristy stroke or want to improve better shoulder turn when putting then try one out. Try putting with a glove in your mouth and try to keep it from moving while putting.
  10. Regarding club length and grip size, If your fingers on your left had sit nicely into your palm when holding the club, stay as you are. If a grip is too small then you may start hitting the ball left and if the grips are too large then you may start blocking out to the right. Don't mess with club length just yet. Unless you are 6" 5 or 4"5 stay as standard for now until your golf gets a little better then have another look at it.
  11. I hope this may help your quest. This site has a lot of information on it. golfclubshaftreview.com I fitted an Aldila NV PROTOPYPE X 85gram into a 8.5 taylor made driver and it changed my ball flight.
  12. Go to your local fitting store and try try try. There are many clubs out there but there are also a lot of shaft choices. Do some research into shafts and try figuring out what would best suit your swing. take a look at golfclubshaftreview.com this site will help point out shafts characteristics and playability. good luck
  13. It is all to do with TV spottings. These loud designs are what catch peoples eye on the TV. If you saw Tiger playing with a zebra striped driver, everyone would go get one.
  14. Try looking at golfclubshaftreview.com you'll find a lot of good info on here. good luck
  15. Don't buy clone. Would you buy retread tyres, May look the same but don't perform the same. Get quallity used or save up the cash for the real thing.
  16. if you have not used a cart in a long time, try having a look at the new 3 wheel push carts. They really are something and they even have drink holders. You'll just have to get used to pushing or pulling if you like to walk.
  17. Hi, Both the clubs you mention will hit the ball very high. I use and have done for several years, mizuno. They are great clubs but check our the peripheral weighted forged irons such as the mp range. Great clubs and great feel.
  18. I have always thought that Titleist make great shaped heads on their hybrids. I have a 585 and a 910. Although, all the clubs you mentioned are good but see if you can try before you buy and get the correct flex for the shaft.
  19. judging by your driver swing speed, stiff shafts would be fine but you need to measure your swing sped using irons. Your driver may be lightweight and hense you can produce more head speed. Go measure your swing speed again. Good luck
  20. Hi Former 2 hcp, Projext X can feel a little boardy and Dynamic Gold can fell a little hard. Both are great shafts though.
