  1. With the exception of Callaway's X Hot, Cleveland's HiBore and Nike's SasQuatch 2 fairway woods, every other 3-wood is going to look HUGE compared to your Steelhead. Take a look at the Adam's Insight line (Adams make some of the best fairway woods on the market) or even MacGregor's new MT line, both have been well received. Kevin
  2. You have a Handicap Index of 3.7 playing the VFT's? Nice! The NEW Bertha irons are very easy to hit but way more game improvement than you need, X-20's would be more what you are looking for. Kevin
  3. Correct link - http://www.golfdiscussions.com/yabbs...c,24842.0.html Great read!
  4. I came across a few r7 460 counterfeit drivers last summer. One of the indicators it was indeed fake were the weights. If your driver has a 14 gram weight in it, compare it to the image below The shaft is another dead giveaway if it has the RE*AX shaft in it as the counterfeiters came close to reproducing the same look but got the colors wrong. From the pictures yours looks legit. Kevin
  5. Trade-in companies like Global Golf and Dallas Golf inspect the clubs that come in very closely, especially if a driver has been reshafted (they'll knock you for that) or any other odd defect. Yes. Very rarely will they give you the higher amount. You will probably never see that happen. While the general sales staff might not be able to tell the difference between a OEM club and a fake one (especially if they are new), most of the people who work in the trade-in/re-sale departments know a genuine club from a counterfeit one.. I have seen fakes that are very very close to the real thing, but if you are around clubs all the time, you can definitely weed out the bad ones. Kevin
  6. I have played blades for 30 years and I am no Callaway fan but the X-Forged are the best looking/performing players iron I've hit! Nothing comes close. Kevin
  7. With GI irons you lose a lot of touch & feel around the greens (8-PW) while the longer GI irons (3-5) shine due to the sole usually being wider, increasing launch angle and distance and making shots out of the deep grass a little easier. Very true. With only a few exceptions, most golfers can easily handle playing players clubs (5-PW).
  8. Couldn't have said it better myself! Not a Callaway fan by any means and marginally liked their x-tours from a couple of years ago but the X-Forged are sweet! Back on topic..... I worked golf retail for 14 years and there was 1 rule I had when selling people clubs, make honest suggestions but sell them what they want! They will be much happier and you will get repeat business from them. As for you wanting the X-20, go for it! Consider ordering a 5-SW and maybe add a 3 & 4 hybrid irons. If the clubs look good and feel good to you, just get them! Kevin
  9. Great golfclubs for that price! It has been awhile since I hit the 200's but you will definitely like them. Make sure the shafts aren't bent or coming loose from the heads. Put some new grips on those bad-boys and you will be set for the summer! Kevin
  10. Inputing your specs (swing speed, wrist to floor, height) to a website will give you a close range of what you might need but it's not exact system, getting fit by someone who knows what he/she is doing is a major plus! I just went through the Golfsmith's Smart/Fit fitting system (I am 6'6, play irons +1, 5* upright, stiff flex (I have a 3/4 swing)) and it told me I should play +3/4, 3* upright, X-Stiff), close, but not quite. I have worked golf retail and have fitted hundreds of golfers so I can understand the $75 charge if the fitting includes time on the launch monitor, getting fit for irons, wedges and woods. Find a local pro or teaching professional at a course/driving range to see if they can fit you off a lie board. It's low tech but it will tell you exactly what you need. Should only take 10-15 minutes, maybe they won't even charge you! PM me if you have any questions. Kevin
