  1. He shot +1 on TPC Four Seasons in adverse conditions. His irons will keep him amongst the top for quite some time.
  2. That is exactly right. I started hitting my driver straight when I flattened out my swing plane. It helps me to square the club face at impact, and to swing more around my body with the driver. A upright swing plane works well for short irons, but anything longer than a 5 Iron requires a slight adjustment. Anyone know exactly why the club face gets closed faster on a flatter swing plane?
  3. Great all-around wedge.
  4. Going to the range will help you with your swing, ball-striking, and so on. Tiger Woods said that when he was in his early days on the PGA, he would rather spend a day at the range rather than a day on the course. Unless your swing is perfect, the range is going to help.
  5. I figured you would attack me on this, without thinking about it throughly. A good putting stroke, is a repeatable one. You do not need to spend $300 dollars to create a repeatable putting stroke. Also, distance control or lag is far more vital in golf, then line. It really hard to miss a flat putt 2 or more feet wide, but it is not hard to hit it two or more feet short, or long. Even if you can hit it straight every time, you still have to read the green.

  7. Having too technical of a putter stroke can be a bad thing. If all you do is rely on technique and mechanics, you lose feel. Most of the best putters in the world have really well trained feel. Definitely not worth $300.
  8. Maybe I am confused, but would believing in this completely contradict this entire category of this forum?
  9. It saved me $30, so any slight imperfections are irrelevant. Thanks for the answer.
  10. That is often the case. Amen!
  11. I went to Dick's Sporting Goods yesterday just to blow some time. Their huge selection of balls caught my eye, so I had to investigate. I am glad I did, because I happened upon the brilliance of X Out balls. Fifteen dollars for a dozen TM Black TP, as opposed to the regular $45. What exactly is the difference between X Outs and their regular counter-parts?
  12. I agree 100%! TM Black TP is a underrated ball. Plus, it got the best stats in the Golf Digest Magazine on Balls.
  13. A lot of club manufacturers change the weighting in the club head in order to manipulate the face angle. Take for example the R7 Draw.
  14. Well, if you look at the impact zone of most pros on iron shots, you will see a very small amount of hip turn. They call this keeping their feet "quiet." If you are having problems with having your hips come too far ahead of your body, try keeping your right foot low, or "queit," while also keeping your weight on your left side.
  15. I have learned that you need to start with your arms on the downswing, to synchronize your swing. However, most pros start with their hips, to one fight a hook and two add a lot of power.
  16. Its the same idea when the pros putt into a smaller hole.
  17. I agree with ShotCaLLa. It is really hard to "slice" a ball with a high lofted club, unless you're coming really over the top.
  18. I used to block my shots off when I would start with my hips, resulting in a slice. Now I rely more on my arms and hands, it keeps my arms from getting too far behind.
