You can get a matching sw off ebay. Or I'd visit an online store like golfworks and pick up something like their 1.25 UC 56* SW. I would suggest getting a 5w and a putter. Sw of course. Keep your bag to as few clubs as possible for now.

How much is your golf set worth?
solarbear replied to billysandy's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Wishon 752 irons (s300 shafts) $550 Wishon 321 hybrid Aerotech shaft $100 Putter $40 TM Superfast Driver $100 ebay Callaway Steelhead III 4+ wood $50 So about $850. This is in Australia where cheap or good value is a lost concept. -
Its funny when chops play blades.
solarbear replied to kekoa's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
They were a small cavity iron. Looked a lot loke a mb iron from address. Lots of love from other players on their feel. Maybe you didn't like the shaft - different strokes as they say. The small headed cavity is what I felt might suit a lot of people wanting a balance between control and forgiveness. I wonder how many pro's and players play blades because they can get them flatter. Older models coming flatter than more modern clubs. Most good players slot the club in a position where a flat club would be preferable. -
Suggestions for Women's Starter Clubs
solarbear replied to wwl3's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I'd pick up some Hireko clubs. Women generally get Driving Club,5w, 5hybrid or 7w, 7, 9, sw, putter. At Hireko.com you can order the individual clubs at whatevre length you want. The Belissima look like the go the obsession are glary pink On ebay there are lots of sets. I've seen many women using Wilson Hope and they are not very dear. They would be my pick of fully assembled sets. -

Wish Bridgestone still made the GC mids. They were a great club for the guys who needed forgiveness but 'wanted' to play a blade. Hard to believe that there is nothing quite like them on the market. -
New interest in club building
solarbear replied to xerographic26's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
That is actually a pretty nice looking wedge. :D The guys on Freegolfinfo use Valuegolf a lot, and the service is said to be good, which is why I reccomended them. -

Would look mostly at valuegolf and maltby. Valuegolf for cheaper Acer components And Maltby for a bit better stuff Golfsmith used to be really good but is a bit sparse these days -
Searching for a new driver shaft
solarbear replied to saturday's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Maybe look at Arthur Extreme shafts from golf works. They play a bit stiff so you might look at regular in a 6.0 or a stiff in the 5.0. Prolaunch Blue Or Proforce V2 Both good options. -
Can anyone recommend a good BEGINNER'S set of clubs?
solarbear replied to mikeycarps's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Another option is one of the Orlimar or Tour Edge sets from Rockbottom. With your sort of budget, used or a cheap online store like gigagolf/valuegolf would be a good go too. -
Thinking about cutting my 3 wood to hybrid length ...
solarbear replied to inthehole's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
There are a lot of hybrids that are shaped pretty much like fairway woods. Rather than hack a club up and ruin its swingweight, I'd get a 15- 18* hybrid in that sort of shape. -
TIGER'S CLUBS: Driver: 285 yards (of carry) 3 Wd: 265 yards (of carry) 2 Iron: 245 yards 3 Iron: 230 yards 4 Iron: 220 yards 5 Iron: 208 yards 6 Iron: 190 yards 7 Iron: 172 yards 8 Iron: 158 yards 9 Iron: 142 yards Pitching Wedge: 128 yards Sand Wedge: 106 yards Lob Wedge (60°): 92 yards Tiger's numbers just for a little comparison.

OMG the shock. Someone asks what clubs to buy on an equipment forum. Let's shoot him now.

Which clubs to upgrade/add first?
solarbear replied to Desert's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
That would be debatable whether there is a significant advantage of say the AMP over the S3. Each year they use different shafts, so one might play better than the other for you, but which one is hard to say exactly. I have always liked Cobra drivers, they have a nice weight and feel solid. They tend to play a little more loft than it says on the head which is not bad for most people. And adams speedline 12 or 11 would be another option worth considering that can be had cheap. -

The amp is a sweet driver. I'd steer away from the offset model. That sort of correction will hurt your game long term. -

Cobra is generally forgiving. S2 or s3 are pretty cheap on ebay and their regular flex suits that sort of swingspeed. Same with Cleveland Classic. The 290 can be had for a song on ebay as well. -
Yet another GigaGolf question...
solarbear replied to LostSquirrel's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Which gi/sgi iron has the toughest finish? -
My experience was poor because the fitting did not suit me. I guess with the swing I had at the time +1" might have made some sense. But it made zero sense based on the fact almost every good shot I'd hit I'd choke up. After some practice and a different fitter, I was found to need -1/2". So my experience, which was rather unique, was not good. I realise this is not the norm and hoped someone else could fill you in better.

An often unthought of option is Golfworks. The KE4 range are quite nice and come in left handed. They will build to your specs and you can order whatever shaft you want. They assemble a set for $40. You could get Driver, 5 W Fairway, Hybrid, Irons and Putter for around $500 this way if you stuck to shafts like Axe (very good reputation) graphite and FST steel.
-
Do you want that many Hybrids? That is my only real beef with the Adams sets. Would prefer irons up to at least 5. Not sure about extensions.... clubbuilders claim its ok... you have to adjust the lie as well... my experience with extensions was poor...

Looking to upgrade to new irons - overwhelmed
solarbear replied to innohockey's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
If you are interested in Callaway preowned, perhaps x18-22 tour irons. Have a cavity but little offset. Sounds to me like you need a different shaft. -
Sgi - super game improvement - very large head, lots of weight low and in the bottom of club, lots of offset, perimeter weighted of course, when you set it on the ground you can see the junk hanging off the back Gi - game imrpovement - perimeter weighted, less noticable offset, less trash hanging off the back of the club I would look at something more in the gi range like a cobra amp or rocketblade. Mp 64 is a players club and I would not look at one. Jpx 825 would be more beginner clubs.
